Someone whos been tight lipped as sh*t this year said TA will most likely play both ways Saturday, this is the first "news" I've got out of him since spring and he only told me after I asked about the McKay transfer. He also told me this spring Thelen was our best QB and I think Mellott has something to say about that. He did say TA has been taken reps at RB.

I agree that Thelen was the best passing QB in the spring game. I hated to see him leave, he'll be a good one IMO.

Putting your best player in on a few sets doesn't have best interests at heart? He's not going to play both ways all game.

Maybe Troy wants to play some offense? Some pro scouts are saying he might have some chances of playing offense at the next level. It also can’t hurt his stock any if he does some great stuff with some limited carries.

Maybe Troy volunteered to help on offense, given the McKay situation. Maybe Vigen asked him and gave him the option and Troy said yes. You don't know that Vigen doesn't have his player's best interests at heart.

You really don't have to look any further than when he benched Tui at the EWU game for disciplinary reasons. That told me alot about Coach Vigen. He's not just about winning.

He didn't touch the ball because the defense dictated that. Had they attacked TM, TA would have gotten the ball. I'm OK with that. As for Vigen not having the players' best interests at heart, I completely disagree. Your put the best players at your disposal, in the appropriate positions that give your team the best chance to win the game. Especially in the playoffs. Doing anything less would be letting down the team. TA's draft stock probably goes way higher if the Bobcats win the National Championship... and would absolutely rise if he was a standout on both sides of the ball during the title run.

We have no idea which position NFL scouts see him playing on Sundays. There are probably more than a few that think it's something other than linebacker. Might as well get some fresh film out there of him playing on offense.

Could he get injured running the ball? Sure. But he could also get injured playing 50+ snaps on defense or running down on kick coverage multiple times. If he's up for it then there should be no reservations. He knows this is likely his last game in Bobcat Stadium and he'll leave it all out on the field no matter what. I hope he scores 2 TDs, one on offense and one on defense!
