Atlanta looks like they don't even want ti be there. Not a very good effort. Against a 2 win team! I guess that's why the whole division sucks!
Their LBs look like sticks in the mud and are missing tackles left and right. I get it's raining but are these dudes really better than Troy??
He really struggles to get off blocks.
I think some is scheme. Their D line was getting no push so LB seemed to be holding their spots holding for the play to come to them.

Atlanta should use him as a running back or have some trick play for him on offense.

They have 4 guys with 250+ rushing yards. I'm not sure they need him at RB. What they need is better pass pro and a QB.

I was thinking more along the lines of it because it would be cool to see, not because they are desperate. Just fyi.

What we forget is the fact that even though Troy is fast, this is the NFL and he's just another player up there. In fact he hasn't learned how to play NFL linebacker yet. I hope he gets as good as Singleton, but Singleton was a a linebacker from day 1 BC! ( before Cats)

I assume Troy is at least where the Falcons thought he'd be at this point. They didn't really plan to play him much, if at all, this season outside of special teams. Any game time he can get on D will only help his development. I think we'll see a big jump next year and another one the year after as well.

I thought it was funny they kept talking about how fast Shenault is and Troy woulda caught him with a slightly better angle coming from the far side.

He’s not just another player up there (not even the players up there think that) and he’ll eventually be better than Singleton.

My take at Bozeman was be was slow to get into right position on pass coverage but his speed closed down the play.

Regarding Singleton, he is better now and was better then (MSU) as a LB. His instincts are razor quick, his run support is superior, but his pass coverage is not so good. That said, IF Troy sticks with it and can keep making his strides, his speed and size will get him close to Alex. What Troy does have is his athleticism and the ability to be used as a weapon on Offense. Nobody would even think about using Alex that way. So, all in all Troy is probably a better all rounder, Alex a better LB. IMO

Troy made a great Solo tackle against Justin Fields on a third down run, similar play to the SDSU game last year where he got to the edge with his speed and took down the runner. He looks really good when they put him in there!

Troy also made the block that sprang Atlanta's kickoff returner for a TD!

Some good stats on Troy:

I thought his last game was his best so far. He’s getting more comfortable and you can see the game is slowing down for him.

We're obviously biased observers, but to me Troy stands out almost every time he's out there. He'll be starting at LB very soon.
