You’e right….didn’t feel the same buzz. Some of the fans around said it is different in a CSU or Boise game. They did play the beer song a lot though!

Even the Drake fans were singing along to it. That song is here to stay.

Agreed. We definitely need speakers on the south end of the stadium. The sound system currently sucks. I know there has been an issue with south side residences complaining about the noise scaring their dogs or some crap which is also why there aren't fireworks anymore. They should know that Bobcat football games have probably been scaring dogs for at least 120 years before they moved here. If they could turn up the volume on the sound system we already have, it would blow your hair back. I'm a south side resident and I say CRANK IT UP! I understand that. I guess my thought is that game day music should be more along the lines of “hype music” versus “put you to sleep music”. Everyone sings YMCA which is an awful song but I don't hear anybody requesting that tune. And even YMCA seems better than Sweet Caroline for a stadium.

Hundreds of American sports venues don't play sweet Caroline. Wyoming and Happy Valley to name two.
It is, and will always be an East coast baseball stadium anthem. Alas half the people in the stadium are East /West coast transplants so sadly it is not going away.
Now if you play that tune along with Cotton Eyed Joe you will have a Reggie Dunlop in Slapshot rush the music booth situation, "don't ever play lady of Spain again!"
A more important question should be what Beers @allcat was drinking in the Plunk beer garden....
The State of Montana is Bobcat country.

Re: Stadium Music
Literally saw a 6 year old screaming the lyrics right by our section. So yeah...its a keeper for the rest of eternity most likely. Plus, if you are blowing a team out and people are feeling good in the 4th quarter, why not play some Neil and let fans yell out "bah bah bah"?!BelligerentBobcat wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 9:06 amNever! First of all, allow me to commend you for the Reg Dunlop reference.Bobcatsinmso wrote: ↑Tue Sep 14, 2021 8:44 amHundreds of American sports venues don't play sweet Caroline. Wyoming and Happy Valley to name two.

Secondly, I agree that Sweet Caroline is an east coast baseball anthem. I also can't stand the song and cringe every time it comes on. HOWEVER, it doesn't matter what we think, because the majority of the stadium is engaged and absolutely loving it when it comes on. If it makes people have a good time at the stadium, this crabby old prick will just let it slide and ignore the fact that it's one of the more annoying songs ever.

Re: Stadium Music
If I'm being honest, I think there needs to be cams with tik tok songs playing. The students would get into those big.
And to be honest, who doesn't want a WAP cam! I kid about that part. Well I don't. But I know that wouldn't go over so well.
But the PG tik toks should be part of the game.

There were a handful of players that were in sync with Sweet Caroline. My favorite though is seeing Tui get amped up when Timmy Trumpets Freaks comes on. I saw him get a few fist pumps in before the music cut out.
