Drake and USD were bad. We don’t need to dress those up like they’re okay teams. They’re bad. We won like we should have.

The polls and rankings are interesting and create discussion, but this early in the season they don't mean much.
As long as we keep winning games the poll and rankings will take care of themselves.
When we get to 11-1 we will be a top 4 team depending on what the teams ahead of us do.

They barely mean anything at the end of the season either. The people voting only have game stats and stories to go off. Live viewings in person or on TV are very limited. Short highlights aren't very accessible either and they're not all that revealing.

The redeeming thing is they let all the good teams into the playoffs, since there are 24 spots, along with a few crappy ones and it all gets sorted out on the field.

We? No one was trying to dress them up as if they were okay. Everyone agrees they're bad relative to the Big Sky, MVFC, CAA. We don't always beat teams like we should have for one, and there's a ton of bad teams in the FCS that would struggle in DII. SEMO was not good in 2019, yet ranked No.12 when MSU played them and they made it to the playoffs. Same goes for Albany.

The OVC is an average conference. Aside from SHSU, which I think moved to the WAC challenge thing, the Southland is average. The SoCon is also average. The rest are bad overall conferences.

The three good conferences have a bunch of perennially bad teams, too. There aren't enough good teams in the FCS to have a Top 25 IMHO. A Top 10 would be adequate. Throw a few in others receiving votes and "we"'re good.

Crazy to jump past Villanova who had a decent showing at Penn State...or was that worse than the score showed? I didn't watch or hear about any of that game except the final score.

After watching the EWU game, I’m not sure how I feel about the griz team this year....? Not sure if they are a top 10 team or not?

No question that their defense is one of the best in the country. But their offense is average AT BEST... gonna be a fun cat-griz game this year!

I hate FCS polls. MSU would destroy Delaware right now. UM shoots up the polls with a win at Washington, but only falls three spots when losing to EWU? NDSU gets passed by EWU after they go on the road and beat North Dakota when EWU wins at home?

I trust the Haley and Herder polls more than any others. They at least understand what is going on in every conference.

Yeah, they are a top 10 team for sure. Mostly because theres a big drop after the top 10 or 12. I'm not convinced they belong in the top half of the top 10...Griz were in a position to win on the last play on the road on that terrible red turf.

Thats a good team, no doubt. Just probably a little bit overhyped IMO.

One of my best friends is a Griz fan. He had real questions about that offense even before the Humphrey injury. I think it is nowhere good enough to make them a title contender, but I agree that there are probably only 8-10 FCS teams this year that are capable of making the semifinals. The defense is legit.

Both EWU and Missoula are clearly top 10 teams and clearly not top 4 teams. One has a defense that can't stop teams from scoring and the other has an offense that can't score enough (and just lost their starting QB). I don't know if we can beat either team in November but I bet we'll be able to beat both in December if the opportunity arises.

Is there official word on Humphrey? Such as is he done for the year and what’s the injury? Even though I hate the griz I still feel sorry for him.

UM's QB problems to me indicate their ranking should be no higher than 10.

MSU is definitely better than Delaware, and probably better than SIU.

Polls are just opinions though. We all know this team is better than the "experts" think it is.

Another team to look out for is the other MSU. Missouri State. Coached by Bobby Petrino, the Bears are 3-1 and ranked No. 15. Their only loss was to Oklahoma State 23-16. OSU is ranked 12th in the most recent AP Poll.

Eh, I don't think the Cats are the best team in the Big Sky at this point. We'll see after the next two road games. Cats need to keep winning at the rankings will take care of themselves.

Of course they use a picture of the griz in the article even though they lost and are ranked 4th in the conference.

We aren't the best team until we beat somebody that will finish with a winning record. That puts us 3rd currently in my mind.
