So at the serious risk of JINXING him, McKay has thrown zero interceptions in his last 189 passing attempts, dating back to his days at NC State. He's only thrown 1 interception in his entire collegiate career (7 starts), his first start at NC State. He's now thrown 233 passes to just 1 interception, and no picks in his last 6 games.

That's very impressive. Reminds me of Trey Lance. If memory serves... he might have gone his entire college career without throwing a pick. I know he went all of 2019 without one.CelticCat wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 3:48 pmSo at the serious risk of JINXING him, McKay has thrown zero interceptions in his last 189 passing attempts, dating back to his days at NC State. The best part about McKay so far, IMO, is that he hasn't faltered on drives that you could consider pivotal. People often misplace credit to players that have good stats, saying that 'it's not his fault we lost, look at his numbers' when inside his numbers are failures in key situations. QBs that throw for 150 yards in the fourth quarter when the team is down by 14-21 points often get high praise, which always bewilders me.
Against Wyoming, he brought MSU back after it fell behind twice in the fourth quarter and was moving into scoring range again when time simply ran out on him.
Against Drake, MSU was struggling to move the ball on the ground and McKay was afforded just two passes in the first three drives, which totaled 10 plays for a scant 31 yards. On the fourth drive, leading just 3-0, Vigen put things on McKay and he responded with a TD drive that included his 5 for 6 passing for 69 yards and TD. He also ran three times for 17 yards on the drive, which covered 85 yards. MSU rolled from there. (Ifanse ran once for -3; Elliott once for +2 on that drive)
