If he capped his career off with the Buchanan award.... yeah, it would be hard to argue he is not the greatest bobcat ever. (U could probably already make that argument)

Course, he will have some stiff competition to win the award.... gonna be hard not to hand it to Robby hauck, after he shatters the all time single season record, with 340 tackles.

This is laughable. The fact that you think he will ONLY get 340 tackles this season shows how little you know about stat reporting. If he doesn't break 500 unassisted tackles i'll buy your first beer.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 10:26 amCourse, he will have some stiff competition to win the award.... gonna be hard not to hand it to Robby hauck, after he shatters the all time single season record, with 340 tackles.

He gets extra tackles every time they run a replay on the TVBigBruceBaker wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 10:45 amThis is laughable. Now back to the topic at hand:
Congratulations Mr. Andersen
Is he pointing to right field? Pro baseball next?
Seriously though, 3 BSC LB’s on the list.

Re: Troy Andersen Buck Buchanan
He has to be the overwhelming favorite to win it. I'd be surprised if he doesn't. That would be the only story about this award...if someone else wins.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 10:22 amIf he capped his career off with the Buchanan award.... yeah, it would be hard to argue he is not the greatest bobcat ever. There's the truth, and then there's what's reported in the papers.

In my humble opinion, troy at middle LB is a mistake, he should be on the outside....
With that being said, the coaches know way more than I do, so I will trust their decision.

Re: Troy Andersen Buck Buchanan
With his speed and size, I think it gives him more options on the field. He can decide to take off and run after that quarterback and the quarterback won't get away. Or he can take out those linebackers you just got to hope that the the d line keeps some of those people off of him. However if he's got two yards three yards to see him coming I don't think they'll touch himmslacatfan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 4:52 pmIn my humble opinion, troy at middle LB is a mistake, he should be on the outside....

I don’t know enough about defensive schemes to know the responsibilities of the Mike in a 4-2-5. Also I wonder if he’ll be middle if/when we play a 4-3 front.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 4:52 pmIn my humble opinion, troy at middle LB is a mistake, he should be on the outside....

Will the backers be troy and Danny U or Troy and Callahan O?

Troy and Callahan. I'd also expect a lot of Nolan, Danny U, and Taden Gilman (who is also going to be playing nickel against bigger offensive packages). Expect a lot of scheme versatility.wbtfg wrote: ↑Thu Aug 05, 2021 5:24 pmI don’t know enough about defensive schemes to know the responsibilities of the Mike in a 4-2-5. Vigen sees Troy as an Urlacher type that can get to either sideline and drop to the deep middle. A lot harder to run opposite him when he’s in the middle of the field.

Re: Troy Andersen Buck Buchanan
I would still love to see Troy and Jaharie Martin playing mainly on defense, but also being used for some offensive plays when needed. These are two guys that should be on the field as much as we can have them out there.
Punters are people too!!
