I watched Vigen and the player interviews. My dang ESPN+ feed kept buffering, so it was difficult to follow, but Vigen didn't seem to announce anything newsworthy.

Yeah nothing interesting. Good news about ESPN+ is that we can re-watch it. Amandre and Lewis are sharp guys, which we knew already. But they did a nice job.

They were the only two to make Preseason All-Big Sky.

At least we know Colter voted for all of them. But yeah that's pretty ridiculous. However it's pre season accolades so those guys can all say told ya so at years end.

Is the preseason selection process any better than the end of season one where you get more players based on where you finished in the standings?

...but the biggest snub is Chase Benson. Amandre Williams is a much better player than Mitchell Johnson (who almost came to Montana State). Lewis Kidd will be in the mix for first-team All-Big Sky honors by the ned of the year. Ifanse is the best back in the league in my opinion when he's healthy but that's the most stacked position of any in any FCS conference - Josh Davis, Ulonzo Gilliam, Elijah Dotson, Ifanse and Marcus Knight when healthy are all All-American caliber.

But Benson is the single best interior lineman in the league. Schiess is an awesome player and an NFL prospect but he plays a different position than Chase. I can't say I know anything at all about the Rodgers kid from UC Davis...

Yeah, I agree with 4th. Tough schedule, and new head coach and a lot of new assistants. However, the latter could end up being a good thing.

That All-Big Sky team though is not very agreeable for me. Andersen is the best player in the conference, bar none. He's proven that. Whatever position he plays, he's the best player at that position. Whatever side of the ball he plays on (defense this year), he's the best player on that side of the ball, so even though he's a pick, this is still a slap in the face. Couple that with just one other MSU player getting selected and it causes me to question everything about it. However, this could end up being a good thing.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Something tells me Jeff Choate would absolutely love everything about this if he was still the coach. He seemed to love to motivate that way. Hopefully Vigen can capitalize on that as well.

Let's just hope the season is not affected by the virus. Things are blowing up all over the country. Looks like people have forgotten the past 15 months and how we got through it. People need to get vaccinated and wear masks indoors among crowds or this Delta variant will stop this country dead in its tracks again. Even people vaccinated it has been shown can get I'll and spread the virus. They may not need a hospital but it still can't be pleasant.
