Let's come up with who we think should "endorse" what local product. I'll start:
Lewis Kidd and Tui - Storm Castle and/or Ford/Ram/Chevy Truck dealer
Chase Benson - The Pitt
Troy Anderson - (anything he wants to)

Who you got?
Colombo's, Rosa's and Pickle Barrel should sponsor some of the guys. Whoever eats the most.

Eastwood, did not make it. Ball out! Recovered, by Montana State!! The Bobcats hold!!! The Bobcats hold!!!

Surprise surprise, The U is way ahead of NIL contracts for players. My idea of paying a male and female MSU athlete $500 to promote this website as an influencer is looking more realistic each day. What’s stopping Phil Knight from paying Oregon Duck players $2000 to $10,000/month to promote Nike?

https://www.espn.com/college-football/s ... cholarship

The owner of a Florida-based chain of mixed martial arts gyms unveiled big plans Tuesday to try to help Miami Hurricanes football players take advantage of new rules that allow them to make money.

Dan Lambert, the owner of American Top Team and a longtime Miami football fan, has offered each scholarship player on the Miami football team a monthly payment of $500 this year to advertise his gyms on social media. American Top Team is the home training facility for more than two dozen professional fighters, including Jorge Masvidal and Amanda Nunes.

Lambert's offer to the Hurricanes -- which could add up to as much as $540,000 this year -- is the largest reported sum for a college sports endorsement deal since new state laws and NCAA rules opened the doors for players to make money last week.
My theory on what would stop Phil Knight/Nike from doing that for Oregon: It wouldn’t take long before a school like Alabama, and others, to say “**** you, we’re going to Adidas, UnderArmour, etc”)

Would probably cost them more than gain.

Probably because "DA U" is the "DA BEST".

I think this will balloon into million dollar deals for top name talent rather quickly. But I think the real money will be in the Junior/Senior years when guys are well known and people might actually make a buying decision based of what their favorite receiver says.

This is also a really good way to funnel money to your players, instead of the "free" escalade you get to drive i'll just throw $30,000 at you, call it a sponsorship and you make sure to play for us next year. Pretty simple, and now legit!

I love the Bobcats and the Miami Hurricanes an unhealthy level

Link to an article today discussing the Cavendar twins but also several other athletes and their NIL pursuits….for those wanting to read more about emerging trends. I also saw the entire University of Central Florida Womens BB team has signed a deal with a regional moving company today.

This is crazy.
In all, the Cavinders' current endorsement deals could bring in as much as $600,000 a year through branded posts and other forms of advertising content. That total would exceed Fresno State's contract with women's basketball coach Jaime White, who made $471,577 in the 2019-20 fiscal year, according to the school’s financial report.

And in their case, they are really social influencers that happen to be college basketball players. They are not really getting paid because they play for Fresno State.

This is the first MSU athlete that I know of that has signed some sort of deal. I have no idea what being a "Barstool Athlete" entails.

Not the same barstool athletics. Look at their Twitter page. Barstool is a sports social media website

Haha I'm guessing you know this but that's not what barstool athlete means...but maybe she could get into that someday after her track career is over. One of my favorite "sporting events" to attend. It's quite a spectacle.

Doesn't take much to be a Barstool Athlete. Sounds like it's more about building your own brand by representing a brand people know?

Nope. The real barstool athletes are the ones who bounce their way back and forth between all the tourists and transplants as they meander between the Raven and the Sitting Duck...

Hungry Horse is the site of the original Barstool Athletic Competition. The new ones to the game just plagerized the idea.

Wow. This is going to ruin college football. A kid like TA will be noticed in his freshman year and would be crazy to not consider big dollars at a larger school.

That would be awesome for Troy or any other player to use the free market to enrich themselves.

The NIL isn't going to change how players are noticed and all due respect to TA, but his accolades likely wouldn't be the same playing at Bama. Big fish in a small pond or just a fish in a big pond

So how long before MSU Rodeo can be reinstituted as an NCAA sport, not a Club Sport? Seems like this opens the door back up for this, seeing as how - in my recollection - the main reason Rodeo turned into a club sport was because most of the athletes were on the NRA or PRCA circuit and making money rodeoing during the summers. Or is this a separate issue? Honestly don't know, anyone have any idea?

Eric Curry STILL makes me sad.
