I was pleased someone didn't automatically give the griz a higher seed because of their name.

Power polls need a qualifier. Like, a) this how we think they are based on how good we think they are going into the season; b) this is where we think they’ll end up at the end of the regular season; c) same as b except at the end of the playoffs.

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

I think Robby got a few more tackles, just being mentioned in the write up.

I heard that Missoula reported has a story coming out about Robby skipping his senior year and declaring for the draft. Expected to go high in the 3rd round. Or was he just getting high? I don't remember.

Lost for the year playing in a meaningless spring season. I had forgot Sam Houston won, that’s how worthless it was.

Tough break for SDSU.

4. South Dakota State
(8-2, 5-1 Missouri Valley)
What to Know: Missouri Valley offensive player of the year Mark Gronowski (ACL injury) is not expected to play this season, meaning Samford grad transfer Chris Oladokun or sophomore Keaton Heide.

Seattle to Billings to Missoula to Bozeman to Portland to Billings

What a ride

Is #12 because we didn't play in the spring so the voters forgot about us, we have a new coaching staff and voters think they'll fail, or they assume we'll lose all our road games (minus PSU)? It has to be one of those three because there aren't 11 teams better than us.

Probably all of the above..... and our schedule is brutal. All that said, I totally agree - especially a team like UND, no way in hell are they better than MSU. Fortunately it all gets settled on the field and I think we're going to be a pretty damn good team, again. The biggest question in my mind is, when we win it all in 2021 will people say, well Jeff Choate certainly set them up through that with the kick ass culture and loaded roster he left... or will they say, see - Vigen is just what they needed to get them over the hump. Either way, I really don't care.

I don't see how Weber has a tougher schedule than us. Sure, they have four games against the top 25 but only one is on the road whereas all three of our top 25 games are on the road. We have an extra game against playoff teams but UM-Missoula + San Diego < JMU so they've got us there.

I think they threw the FBS games into that equation and I'm not sure if that should be there. Weber has Utah, who is starting the season as a top 25 team. Obviously that is a good team and it makes their schedule tougher than if they didn't play them, but it seems like for the purposes of that article it should've been just the FCS games. Those FBS games never really count against anybody in the FCS rankings, but they can sure count for them if they get a win.
