Duncan Hamilton makes ncaa finals in steeplechase
I know this is the wrong board, but I thought many here would want to know. I think it’s great that we have a Bozeman native competing for a national championship in the steeplechase. He runs in the finals Friday night at 6:24 p.m.

Thank you for posting this. I love to see a Bobcat (and Bozeman kid) going for a national championship.
Cat-Griz Saturday is my favorite day of the year.

Duncan Hamilton made it through to the finals at the Olympic Trials. He runs on Friday at 5:42. What an amazing year for this man!

Re: Duncan Hamilton makes ncaa finals in steeplechase
At the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, June 9 Duncan ran a PR of 8 minutes, 31.99 seconds in the semifinals of the steeplechase. Then on Friday June 11 he ran the finals in 8 minutes, 31.55 seconds, again a new PR.
With a time of 8 minutes, 25.7 seconds, again a new PR, Duncan placed seventh in his heat of the men's 3,000 meter steeplechase on Monday at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials in track and field and qualified to run in the final on Friday. So today in the finals he ran an 8 minute,45.67 second race, placing 14th. Clearly it was not Duncan’s day today.
With the various obstacles so much can happen in the steeplechase, I look forward to hearing what happened for Duncan in this race. More than that we should all be very proud and happy for Duncan’s season this year and look forward to his next 2 years as a Bobcat.

He’s got a bright future ahead in running, if he so chooses. To get the experience of competing in the Trials, and making the finals, against a number of competitors that are 10 years older — priceless. Watch out NCAA.

Yes, definitely not his best day. He was still in it until the last quarter of so of the race. He just faded. Maybe the heat? Really made BOBCATS Nation proud.Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Fri Jun 25, 2021 10:19 pmAt the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Wednesday, June 9 Duncan ran a PR of 8 minutes, 31.99 seconds in the semifinals of the steeplechase. Very impressive 4 races within a couple of weeks time. To set 3 consecutive school records in the first three of those is quite the feat. Very proud of his efforts and representation of Bobcat track. Certainly looking forward to the next couple of years.
