Re: Season Opener Predictions for Cats and Griz
The Wyoming game will be a good learning experience for MSU. Wyoming is pretty good this year and they might be as good as NDSU. In the event MSU faces NDSU in the playoffs, this might help. This, and having Vigen as the coach. Wyoming 31, MSU 17
I think Washington is down a bit this year and UM is a lot better than it was the last time (2017: 63-7, Huskies, who went to the Fiesta Bowl) they met. Washington 45, UM 14

MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Season Opener Predictions for Cats and Griz
Huskies 55 Other 10
Highlights from the contest:
+ Huskies dominate the LOS as Other comes out with a fresh look 3-1-2-3-0-2 defense that confuses the Husky running backs when they reach the second secondary.
+ Other defensive lineman start standing upright until somebody hears some old dude in a green hat laughing from the front row of the student section. Then they revert to hand in the dirt.
+ Other All-American free safety leaves the game with cramps after only 5 plays in a scoreless start and does not return; he is credited with 22.5 tackles and a made field goal
+ The Huskies kick a field goal as time runs out in the first half, leaving the Other Head Coach to quote, "They shouldn't be rubbing it in on this year's National Champions!"
Cats 30 Cowboys 28
Highlights from the contest:
+ Cats are down 21-20 entering the fourth quarter but recover two fumbles as Eye-Fah-Nazi rushes for 62 and McKay 38 in the 4th
+ Our Offensive Line dominates TOP
+ Cowboys cannot run outside the tackles
+ Eye-Fah-Nazi is named Big Sky OPOW
+ Cats average 55 yards per punt
Book it.

The griz are going to be pretty good this year. Who knows how Jimmy Lakes team will be? I would guess a little closer than most of the previous posts 45-28 ish.

Cowboys 34
Bobcats 17
It takes a while for the defense to settled in and coaches make some first-timer mistakes but we leave Laramie healthy and ready for FCS games.
Who cares how much UW routs the griz by?

I'll say Pokes 34
Bobcats 19
We often score 19 against non league opponents in recent years.

Pretty cool having Vigens first game be against his prior team. You have to assume that helps our chances, he should have a pretty good “scouting report”.

On the flip side, UW probably won't be surprised by Vigen's offense.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Mon May 31, 2021 8:41 amPretty cool having Vigens first game be against his prior team. You have to assume that helps our chances, he should have a pretty good “scouting report”.
