Re: Post-Spring Depth Chart
So are we running a 4-2-5 where the "OB" is cycled between Tyrel Thomas and Gildman depending on situation?

Re: Post-Spring Depth Chart
That’s what it looks like to me?
Maybe they’re finally wising up and calling the sub package the base defense like they should. I dunno.
Be interesting to see how they do against the run. Small DL. Need some transfers, I think.
I thought Nuanez said Bauman is the #2? Maybe he’s hurt. Props to Elliot for getting the #2 spot. He’s been very good. OL will dominate. I expect we’ll see Ryan Lonergan show up at some point too. TE is just a really hard position for young players to step right into.

Also, curses to whoever took a picture of the computer screen instead of screen shotting like a normal person. It’s 2021 dammit.

James Campbell! I'm happy for that guy. I heard he was doing well but I didn't know he was the number 1.

Interesting as noted above about the 4-2-5 look. Kinda scratching my head there honestly. Seems like we want to stop the pass, which in the BSC is great. But come playoff time we have to stop the run.
Also scratching my head about Stewart and Steel being listed as 2s! Willie Patterson is a pass dropping machine.

Elijah Elliott is no surprise but I hope the Cats don't lose Hosey to the portal.

Yeah, I love Willie but I didn't see him ahead of Steel.BleedingBLue wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 2:38 pmInteresting as noted above about the 4-2-5 look. Kinda scratching my head there honestly. Agreed. It’s a realistic problem having such a deep, young RB group. Wouldn’t be surprised to lose one or two .

I mean...that's just the kind of the way its going to be from now on. I'll have a "way too long" post about what I saw live vs. after I watched it on YouTube from the spring game but RB depth chart after the game looked like this:
1) Isaiah
2) Elijah
3) Jaharie
4) DeMareus
5) Sumner
And I would have no problem with any of those five being the starter.

Re: Post-Spring Depth Chart
Is Tucker QB2 so that he doesn't transfer or did he show enough on Saturday to jump ahead of an injured Bauman?
Bauman might be young enough and have been given the feeling that he's the future which would lead him to staying no matter what. If Tucker was all the way down to QB3 he'd probably pack his bags and look for a starting role somewhere else. Maybe the coaches did this to keep Tucker on board, especially knowing his offseason history. Or maybe he really is QB2. Check back in a four months for the answer!

Yeah, I have a bad feeling the Cats will lose one or two pretty soon. They have Rening and Olivo in the wings too. I guess it's a nice problem to have.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 2:47 pmI mean...that's just the kind of the way its going to be from now on. Don't forget Joe Olson either who hasn't really had a chance to show what he's got since his nasty injury his senior year at Bozeman High.AFCAT wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 3:09 pmYeah, I have a bad feeling the Cats will lose one or two pretty soon. And Garrett coon... and Joe Olson.... and probably others I’m missing. The RB room is like 10 deep..... choate was definitely a fan of Running the Football. Haha.

A lot of unknowns there for sure.coloradocat wrote: ↑Tue Apr 27, 2021 2:53 pmIs Tucker QB2 so that he doesn't transfer or did he show enough on Saturday to jump ahead of an injured Bauman?

Bauman is only 1 year younger than McKay. So if he’s the #2 for the next two years, does he stick around for the chance to start for 1 year?
And Rovig has to be close to graduating by now, even though he’ll be a Jr on the field next year.
Does he just stick it out for another year and get his degree and retire? Does he leave to try and be the guy for 2 years somewhere else, possibly leaving just shy of getting his degree here?
The whole Covid extra year of eligibility thing really makes these situations interesting.

Re: Post-Spring Depth Chart
I had no idea we were so old on the d - line. For some reason I thought we were super young up front, I know these guys were more buried on the depth chart, but I'm concerned we are so old and so thin. We probably need 3-4 guys this next year and a couple transfers.
I love the Bobcats and the Miami Hurricanes an unhealthy level
