A little surprised Troy is the Second Biggest of the 1's on Defense ?
Ya, I mean he's a big strong LB, so it's not surprising that hw should be the biggest player out there not on the D Line... so should maybe be 4th or 5th now that we've moved to a 4-3. That said, D end, pass rushers, etc don't need to be 280 pounds... but he certainly shouldn't be bigger than whoever starts interior D line. As others have said, I think a couple transfers there are on the way.
Sorry. Size doesn't matter, ability does. So I am not worrying about size, ability matters. Let's see what happens in the fall. Says the guy that was all state class b at nosegaurd at 163 pounds.
Size absolutely matters.
Don't tell my wife this nonsense.
Brother, I don’t know how to tell you this, but I didn’t have to tell her...she told me.
It looks to me that you did know how.

Man, I can imagine a pretty smoking return team with the possibility of Charles Brown and/or Elijah Elliott returning punts and kicks this fall. The Cats haven't had that sort of a threat in a long time.
Coy Steel did great returning punts in 2019.
Definitely, especially in the Albany game. Coy had over 100 return yards in that game on only three or four returns. Elliott and Brown give the option of real speed and moves too. I saw Elliott run back a kick in a scrimmage that was very impressive. I haven't seen Brown play much but I bet we see him back there returning punts. When was the last time the Cats scored on a kickoff or punt return? I know Logan Jones returned a kickoff in his freshman year, but I can't remember another one since then. A TD on a return has probably happened since Logan but I can't remember when.

Those FBS offers were quite some time ago.

I wonder how the new transfer rules affect JC players? Some of the spots filled by a JC guy might now be filled by someone from the portal.

Can FCS players transfer to other FCS schools and play right away now? Am I just inventing that in my head?

Yes.
So what about the BSC rules on transfers within the conference and how it applies to grad transfers? Do we still have the one year redshirt requirement that has to have the departing school's approval to waive the sit out of one year?

I don’t believe so.

Jacob Kettels, OL: Just when he was ready to thrust himself into the conversation about playing time as a redshirt freshman, Kettels was injured on the first day of summer workouts and is lost for the season. Still, the future is bright for the young man from the same hometown as MSU All-America Bryce Sterk. Kettels will remain a possible starter once he returns to health at one of the tackle spots.

So, the Cats have lost the number 1 and 2 left tackles for the year, one to transfer and the other to injury. .

What the Cats O-Line could look like come fall:

LT: Lewis Kidd/TJ Session
LG: Zach Redd/Dylan Porter
C: Cole Sain/Justus Perkins
RG: Taylor Tuisasosopo/Joe McElroy
RT: TJ Session/Dylan Porter

They are looking for a transfer tackle at the moment so it depends where he would fit. I think Lewis can hang just fine at LT but our depth isn't as strong on the outside as the inside now that Wood & Kettels are gone/injured. I still like that starting 5!

That's why you always recruit lineman. Every year you get an injury or two, medical retirements, or too much time in battle and hang it up.....
Transfer's out - to another D1, usually not our problem.

No doubt. It's the most important unit in football. Remember when Kramer, who was an OL, seemed like he was always stuck with a total of four OL in the spring? He had some great offensive linemen though.
