Bergen flips commitment to Grizzlies
Just saw on Twitter that Junior Bergen heading to Missoula. Guessing the coaching change bothered him.

Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Kept this one close to the vest over the past month but yes the coaching change lost us this one. Good luck to Junior!ibleedblue wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:21 pmJust saw on Twitter that Junior Bergen heading to Missoula. Guessing the coaching change bothered him.

I can understand why he might want to go somewhere else with a coaching change. But he certainly is ONLY thinking about football. MSU has so much more to offer in every other aspect of college than um.

Anyone else you're keeping close to the vest. Well, I guess you wouldn't be keeping it close to the vest if you tell us.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 14, 2021 10:45 pmKept this one close to the vest over the past month but yes the coaching change lost us this one. It's a bummer but I'm guessing it's not the only casualty of the coaching change. Nobody's fault, you just sign with a place where you feel a connection with players and coaches. Obviously the head coach is a huge factor in making a decision and when that factor changes, a lot of things can change for a kid.

Re: Bergen flips commitment to Grizzlies
Anybody remember on signing day what Choate said about Bergen, he had “ flair for drama” or something to that effect. That statement was in an interview, also Bergen was the basically the last player to commit, sign and turn in the paperwork.
Most importantly, this young man had back surgery recently!
I wish him well, but for the sake of your body please play college basketball young man, a less contact sport would be much better on the back Junior. Good luck to you!

Anyone know the No. 1 reason players decommit/transfer?
MSU - 15 team National Champions (most recent 2021); 57 individual National Champions (most recent 2023).

Re: Bergen flips commitment to Grizzlies
An athlete is allowed to decommit if there is a change of coach or if the recruiting wasn't truthful (ie "We are only recruiting 1 tight end and you are it." and the recruit finds multiple tight ends in his recruiting class).
"...get in 21 personnel and pound people and take their souls and have fun doing that..." coach Choate

He'd rather play for Bobby because of a coaching change?
Good luck young man. If you're 0-4 at the end of your tenure, well that would be a real shame now wouldn't it.

Remember Dalton Daum. Flipped to the Griz. Ended up at MSU a couple years later. Injuries cut his career short, but I would be curious to what Bobby promised him. I know Bobby is not a fan of theatrics so gonna be interesting to follow.

Re: Bergen flips commitment to Grizzlies
I don’t get the feeling Bobby promises anything other than a chance to compete.
I don’t know Bergen. Seemed like a nice player. Can’t say I like the denigrating way people are talking about theatrics and drama with him.
