Oooh good question.
Depends on where they end up living. Bozeman is not open enrollment.

I was thinking the same thing. Save the matchup for the playoffs.CodyCat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 8:25 amWhyCatfanatic84 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:39 pmHoping Coach V, with his NDSU ties can get a home and home matchup with the Bison.
They're still bitter about "the buyout" 10 years ago.Catfanatic84 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:39 pmHoping Coach V, with his NDSU ties can get a home and home matchup with the Bison.
2 buyouts in an 8 year period.91catAlum wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:07 amThey're still bitter about "the buyout" 10 years ago.Catfanatic84 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:39 pmHoping Coach V, with his NDSU ties can get a home and home matchup with the Bison.
Screw NDSU. The butthurt those idiots still complain about following the buyout is absurd. They should be pissed at their A.D., not MSU. We paid them and it's done, we don't owe them a damn thing.91catAlum wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 9:07 amThey're still bitter about "the buyout" 10 years ago.Catfanatic84 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 16, 2021 7:39 pmHoping Coach V, with his NDSU ties can get a home and home matchup with the Bison.
Plus at this level, it's not like scheduling a top 5 game is going to bring you in a ton of money or anything. In FBS, a game like that will be on CBS, ESPN, whatever, be a big sellout and bring in a ton of money, but it's super rare at this level to get that kind of contract for this type of game (not unheard of though).BozoneCat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 12:12 pmScrew NDSU. There really is very little benefit to setting up a regular season matchup w/ schools like NDSU. One top 10 team is going to take a loss, and that carries with you into the playoffs and seeding. We both have strong strength of schedules due to our conferences, so we don't need to take games like that to boost our resumes. Perfect world, I love those kind of matchups, both at the FCS and FBS levels, but I understand why the bigger schools don't need or want to schedule them.
Wasn't the UM/NDSU game on ESPN2?CelticCat wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 1:03 pmPlus at this level, it's not like scheduling a top 5 game is going to bring you in a ton of money or anything. I’m only talking about it because it was brought up. I’m over it because everybody involved is gone, but the move can’t be defended. It was bad.
Bad, depends on your POV. While I agree, it looked bad backing out against a top 5 opponent, I believe the game we replaced it with netted the athletic department significantly more than the buyout. I have no idea of the actual reason for getting out of it but sometimes you have to play the $ game.
Yes. It was 100% because of a scheduling, monetary, logistics issue. It zero to do with fear about getting beat, or hurt, or anything like that if anyone is thinking that.Cat4LifeHouseDivided wrote: ↑Wed Feb 17, 2021 2:53 pmBad, depends on your POV.
