I believe this is what the meeting looked liked today with the team

I am a bit surprised at the range of emotion I am experiencing. I am relieved the Cats are not losing Choate at this time but I also feel disappointment he was not selected.

You think so? I think the only reason it's happening now is because it's Boise. He's not going to go after any other MWC jobs. And I doubt he would leave for some other group of 5 job, especially not in the MWC, Sun Belt, C USA or MAC.

I think the fact that he's #2/3 on Boise's list will move him onto future lists. He bounced around a lot before he got to Bozeman so I could see him get a G5 job somewhere, especially MWC since he'd still be in his backyard. MWC is probably the most likely conference for him to get on a short list unless he has other connections at a school.

Well when Nebska fires Scott Frost and hires Craig Bohl, I would bet that Wyoming would love to have Jeff Choate take over. They are virtual clones.

Choate has a much better hairstyle.

As happy and relieved as I am as a Bobcat fan, I do feel for Coach Choate. There is no one more deserving than he is. We are so lucky to have a great coach, but an even better human being running our football program, and Boise doesn't know what they're missing out on. Coach, we are so glad you are here and thank you for everything you have done - and will do - at Montana State University!

Yeah I felt that too. You always want the best for yours. Choate has goals and you want him to achieve those as well.

What is awesome is there are more people watching this thread on Bobcat Nation than Griz have fans in the seats at a home game. And many tears were shed today in Missoula.

I personally believe Coach is destined for greater things than Boise State. Boise has been great no doubt, but I think coach is going to land a P5 job when he leaves MSU. And you know he is going to be even more motivated to get this team to the top now!!!

The head football coach at Boise State is about as secure a job as you can find in the coaching profession. How many successive coaches have left Boise on their own terms? All of them to take a P5 head coaching position.

Funny thing is that if you look at all sources, they all say they expect him to be hired, not that he was hired.
