Flint Creek will be heading to Fort Benton this weekend for an eight-man semifinal. Both coaches, Mike Cutler and Jory Thompson were players and coached by Coach Choate at Western. It should be a good game between two good teams. Both Mike and Jory played LB together at Western, so I am sure there is a fun competitive nature between the two as they get their teams prepared for this game. Both head coaches have a son playing in this game. Kade Cutler and Jace Thompson play running back on offense and are strong defensive players as well. Kade, of course is a BOBCAT recruit and Jace is going to Montana Tech. Should be a good game to follow.

Jory Choate is named after Jory Thompson.....FYI.

My nephew is Andrew Ballantyne #25 on the Longhorns. They have not really been tested this year. It will be interesting but I don't think Flint Cr. has much of a chance in this game, but, we shall see.

Who knew that having played and coached at Western gives you such an in-state recruiting advantage? It makes complete sense. Western is a teacher’s college and teachers often get into coaching, especially athletes from teaching colleges. BJ Robertson is a big key to this. As is Armstrong.

Scobey also has a Bobcat tie, although not to Coach Choate. Head Coach Brock Berryhill was a part of the program, maybe a GA, back in the early 2000s under Mike Kramer.

Oh wow. I didn't realize Brock was at MSU. Though, that does make sense as his wife (from Scobey) was either a cheerleader or on the dance team here at MSU.

Flint Creek has been dominant for a few years now. There's just something about winning that just breeds more winning. I was surprised to see somebody say they didn't have much of a chance, but I wanted to see what Fort Benton had because I haven't seen them play since they were Class B.

Kade Cutler ran for six TDs, threw for one and forced two fumbles. Flint Creek will play in 8-man title vs Scobey.
