That's too bad for the team, but great for those guys. I assume they're set to graduate soon, which is the most awesome thing about college! Both guys were solid contributors. Hate to see them go, selfishly, but happy for them at the same time. Bittersweet, I guess.

I am curious how many players that stay for the extra year of eligibility will be working or receive a master's degree. Pretty good opportunity to do that while on scholarship.

That, And I was also thinking this is a great opportunity for borderline nfl guys, playing that extra 5th year will only help their potential to get picked up in the nfl.

The thing that you will probably not hear is how many had the heart to heart discussion with a coach, not saying in this circumstance, but in general across FCS/FBS, that we have 63/85 funded scholarships and you won't be on one next fall. I am sure these two would have been coming back on Scholarship. But Offensive Lineman take a beating to get through 4 or 5 years of play in pits. Lots of them retire before their eligibility is over.

Two good Montana guys who were tremendous assets to the program. Dependable, competitive, and loyal are a few words that come to mind. I wish them nothing but the best as the will both be successful.

Best of luck. Sure hope they can be replaced by another Montana kid. Hopefully one that plays for Missoula Sentinel.

Another thing that will be interesting is how many "grad transfers" we might see across college football due to the extra year of school.

Agree 100%. Probably not the way any seniors across the nation want to end their career. These guys will forever be Bobcats.
