Saddened to hear of his passing. He hired me 48 years ago as a biologist and sent me to Roundup.
Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, he first made his mark in Montana as a four-year football star for the Montana State Bobcats at left end and linebacker. In his senior year he was co-MVP of the undefeated 1956 MSU team, which shared a national championship

That’s too bad. I still have his book, “Beyond Fair Chase.” He really helped shape my views on hunting and fishing.

Did not realize he was a Bobcat. They gave my hunters ed class copies of that book and I still have it as well. That's a good read for anyone.
