I remember Derrick Abell well. He was really physical for a cornerback. It seemed like he made every tackle in that game against Arkansas State in the first playoff game of 84 until Mark Fellows nearly killed their QB.

DA was a first class individual and teammate, no surprise he's made Chief.
I seem to remember a few years back he had a son that we were recruiting?
side note: what I remember about DA time in Rocky's weight room, he spent 80% of it working on his guns for show. I asked him why - he said since he's undersized, he wants guns out to have some kind of intimidation factor. helluva player and person
