Good call!
2021 led by seniors TA and Ifanse, sounds like a solid base to build on.

Mr. Grebe and Mr. Andersen are not too far apart on the "overall athlete" scale. Brody can about just as much as Troy can do...only maybe a little slower.

Wow, being that it's so close to home, that was perhaps the best, most significant interview I've ever seen.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 11:41 amHere's the full video from today. Like Choate said, he does not want Troy Andersen to be the headline given what is going on in the world today. He wants to help ease tensions from coast to coast with football as a vehicle to do so.coloradocat wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 10:33 amHopefully Colter can get the story behind this. Ideally he'd be able to play some games in Nov/Dec but ultimately this should give him time to get healthy and then get in a full season next year and the tape to go along with it for NFL scouts. The 2020 season and 2021 NFL draft could be a mess so this might work out for the best.
Thanks Colter.

Re: Troy Andersen Redshirting
There are several explosive players on the roster right now that can successfully run the wild cat, we don't need TA to run that effectively - obviously.CelticCat wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 11:24 amTrue, but he isn't just a package player like Troy and Travis are/were. Sure there will be some +1 stuff as Choate calls it but if the same QB stays in every play it won't look the same. Unless they plan on using McKay like that with Rovig still handling the majority of the snaps, but I don't think that is how it will play out.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Hope the team stops using whoever misdiagnosed Andersen's issue. Could've been fixed a lot sooner. Glad he gets a year to rest and heal.

Re: Troy Andersen Redshirting
I encourage everyone to spend 23 minutes and watch this video. Coach understands what is important for this nation and for the young men on our team (the black kids who may have experienced discrimination and/or racism AND the white kids who may not have a frame of reference, possibly due to a Montana/suburban/rural upbringing). I think our football team also has some Native kids, who can add to the conversation. Like coach said...that locker room is probably the most diverse group of people in the whole state (griz locker room, too).TomCat88 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 12:11 pmWow, being that it's so close to home, that was perhaps the best, most significant interview I've ever seen.Colter_Nuanez wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 11:41 amHere's the full video from today. Thanks Colter.
(mods: maybe the video should be moved to it's own thread....the headline/thread is about Troy)

Re: Troy Andersen Redshirting
I'm good with this, Troy has poured his heart and soul into this team and his body paid the price. Can you imagine him with a Red Shirt year. 240 lb. OLB and athlete. It is scary. I don't see transfer portal as an option, in fact I think that is just a silly statement. Troy is MT through and through he wants to start what he finishes and we will see that in two years.

If he is, then wildcat is just another running play. If not rovig may need.to step up his game. Bauman still in the mix as he hasn't decided to leave. Like what that says of him that is putting in the work to compete for starts.

Jeff Choate on Andersen's talent - If anything he's underrated.

Re: Troy Andersen Redshirting
If he's a good QB, and especially a good dual threat QB, I would argue that taking him off the field for a wildcat play is counterproductive.Montanabob wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 3:56 pmIf he is, then wildcat is just another running play. Re: Troy Andersen Redshirting
Nah, we won’t need him for that one.
Though if he’s healthy enough we should give him all the LB reps game week so Bob can have an excuse of preparing all week for him to play QB.....

Haven't you guys heard that MSU has overused him, his parents aren't happy with his usage, and he's going to transfer?
