Yup, all credibility just went out the window. “224 tackles through two seasons...” what a joke.

Even I was credited for 20 tackles on the grizzlies team last year on their official season stats list... and I went to MSU... 15 years ago... and didn’t play football

So shouldn't the Big Sky or someone in an official capacity be looking into this? Is it a known fact that dUMb is padding stats for player and program recognition? Very sad that these jokers are taking the spotlight from worthy players who actually have better performances without inflated production. Typical for that program.

I agree, it really is a joke at this point on the stats. Just like Olson, he is/was a very good linebacker. I find it very hard to believe he had the 160 tackles or whatever it was he was credited with this year though.

I think it was Colter that mentioned something a couple months ago that 3 different griz players broke the school record for tackles in a season this past year. There have been some damn good defensive players come through that program over the years, and you’re telling me the top 3 individual tackling seasons in history all happened this year? On a defense/team that was good, but not great or dominant? No, I don’t believe that.

Do we even know if TA will be healthy this year. Anyone heard any update on his knee?

Apparently, getting consistently beat in coverage on pass plays and jumping on a pile 8 yards downfield on run plays is now Buck level ball.

He tries hard, though.

Saying a defensive back is good because he had a lot of tackles is like saying a receiver is good because he had a lot of targets. You've made a statement, and provided a statistic, and yet you've provided no useful information to actually evaluate the player's ability.

I have heard from a reliable source that TA will redshirt this year in order to be 100% healthy for his final year. I am not making this up. As I understand it he played all year with a torn PCL, has been banged up one way or another his entire career and simply wants to be healthy for his final year.

Well, aren’t you full of fun information! :)

I'd suggest, if this is true, that we take full advantage of the 4 game rule and save him for Cat/griz and the playoffs.

100% this.

Just save him for a fun little surprise for the griz, and hopefully a playoff run.

I'll believe it on 9/5 if he isn't on the field against LIU.

The timeline simply doesn’t fit. Say the news is true and he had a torn PCL, even if he had surgery at the end of January, he would still have plenty of time to be fully healthy before the first game. I’m a little hesitant to think this is viable information. Again the timeline of sitting out because of a torn PCL doesn’t fit.

Surgery will be sometime this month...

So they waited 3 months to have surgery? This whole thing doesn’t make sense. Troy sat out the last what 4 games, and now they decide surgery at the end of March? Did he hurt himself again after the season? If he had knee issues, which makes sense since he sat out games, then they wouldn’t have waited 3 months to have surgery. If it’s a torn tendon, it’s a torn tendon.

Feels like a typical, “I heard from a reliable source that heard from a reliable source” thing.

Rollo did you hear this from the athletic department or Troy’s family? The timeline doesn’t foot.
