Doesn't sound like it. As I understand it, in order for it to come back the players would need to unionize. This has been tried in the past and failed miserably. EA wouldn't be able to, and wouldn't want to pay every player individually for their image/likeness in the game. They pay the union a percentage of the profits in the NFL and NHL similar to league revenues negotiated through the CBA, and every player gets their small portion that way.
I read a small blurb about this very thing yesterday and it basically said there's no hope for the game for at least a few more years until people have a better understanding of how this is all going to work.

It sounds like it's not going to be implemented until 2021, but could a guy like Troy Andersen or Harald Frey sign contracts with Nike, Rockin R, Ressler Motors, and Alaskan Airlines and receive cash and product? Can a kid from an under armor school sign a shoe deal with Nike?

My initial thought is its an advantage for the Montana schools. Some local business or even larger business might go that route in a Bozeman or a Missoula, not necessarily a Greeley. But Portland State might benefit just from their market size.
