Now I want to see Jory switch to the #4 lol. I'm positive he'll be a special teams beast, and a decent chance he becomes a major contributor, but he can ALWAYS remind the grizz his dad was 4-0 while coaching here.

I was thinking the same thing. What a great item to put into the Blue/Gold Annual Auction!

However, I'm told that Jory's not the kind of guy that would want the attention of that. But, who knows, I think it would be a great idea for his last Cat-Griz game in a few years.

I saw this post card for sale on eBay. Caravan club rally in Bozeman, but you can see the stadium under construction too. Kind of cool.
Satellite imagery is kind of old, lot's of new buildings that don't show up.

I remember those Wally Byam rallies. Thousands of AirStream travel trailers.
You can also see the baseball field. If my memory serves me correctly, the 1969-70 season was the last for Bobcat baseball.

Re: Off season random *^%$
Close….they stopped playing baseball after the 1971 season. A couple of my friends played on that team and one lived in the dorm just a few doors down.
Maybe some of you remember when they held the College National Final Rodeo at MSU…often would have huge trailer gatherings like that shown in the photo.
Good stuff.
Footnote: Had to get ahold of the old center fielder from that last team and he confirmed 1971 was final season. A couple remembrances he had was that Maury Wills’ son played for Idaho that year. He recalled the protests by some of the “free spirits” on campus trying to get athletics defunded. His claim to fame was that he hit the last home run recorded by a Bobcat in that stadium before program was stopped.

Not just "free spirits," but a lot of others didn't want to increase student fees for athletics.BobcatDel wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 8:17 amClose….they stopped playing baseball after the 1971 season. A couple of my friends played on that team and one lived in the dorm just a few doors down.

Has to be the classic blue jerseys, gold helmet, gold pants look for me. I've always been partial to a more yellow color over metallic gold though as I think it would be awesome if MSU's uniforms matched the colors of the state flag.

Curious to see what he can do this season with another year of experience under his belt. Would be so cool to see him catch a pass from Brady in a game!

Re: Off season random *^%$
Unfortunately the Bucs are still stacked at WR (and pass-catchers in general). I think at least two guys on the active roster will have to go down for him to move up. His best shot may be to ball out in the preseason, be included in the last round of cuts, and sign with another team.mslacatfan wrote: ↑Tue Jul 20, 2021 12:51 pm

I know a couple from the baseball team went elsewhere to play. One of the pitchers had several offers to play pro but did not due to injury. And I know at least one kid who left school….always wandered if he got drafted….draft was still in place back then.
