Looks like 3 to play 3 (HS class of 2018)
Juco to UI - no playing time at UI.
New coach and six players hit the portal this morning before the 1 July deadline.

Going back to his former JUCO instead of signing with any of his FCS of Div II offers. I'm not sure if I've seen that happen before.

I know the Cats have signed players just weeks before Fall camp in the past, but what is the latest date a player has signed and gone on to play in the Fall? Just curious since Summer workouts have been going on for a while now and Fall camp is only about a month or so away.

Henderson(?) safety transfer from Colorado. We played against him week 1, and he was wearing the blue and gold week 2.

Really? In the same season? I don’t remember that one. I didn’t think that was even possible.

Now you have me second guessing myself….but I’m pretty sure. Haha.

Looks like they transferred 8/23. I’d guess our Colorado game was shortly after that. So I was off a bit.

Marcosus Leblanc was also a late add.

It is always possible but the window is closing fast. Not sure who is left that we would want. What was the total? 2? The DL transfer and the WR transfer from Utah?

According to the tweet yesterday, the Cats have 3 defensive transfer player commits coming in for this fall. I think Vega and Alston may be two of the three since they don’t have a lot of other offers and no FBS offers. The other known defensive players that have offers from MSU also have offers from FBS programs. Xavier Mitchell just committed to FCS Maine. Curious who the three commits could be.

Do we know its 3?

The other would be Blake Hehl I'd assume.

These are the tweets. Looks like three to me. Could be Hehl but he committed a month and a half ago.

The other one appears to be Tre Webb who is a corner/safety transfer from San Jose State. He is in the below photo as #2.

Pretty impressive resume - 3 year starter - Imagine he's a graduate transfer with 1 year to play

Alston I believe has 3 years to play 3
AT SAN JOSE STATE: Completed five seasons with the Spartans... Was a three-year starter at safety... 43 games played with 30 starting calls... Three games with 10 or more tackles... Signed a National Letter-of-Intent in February 2016.

2020: Honorable Mention All-Mountain West ... Started all eight games for the Mountain West champions ... Second on the team with 49 tackles, including 29 solo stops ... Led the team with five pass breakups ... Recorded 3.5 tackles for loss ... Ranked 25th in the conference with 6.1 tackles per game ...Matched his single-game career-high 11 tackles in season-opening win over Air Force (10/24)... Had a pair of tackles for loss inside the Spartans' 3-yard line at the end of the first half of the Air Force win ... Broke up a pair of passes and made six solo tackles, including one for loss, in win over UNLV (11/14).

Tre Webb being a standout strong safety is huge for the secondary because it basically means Ty Okada can be a chess piece depending on the situation with Jeffrey Manning at the free safety spot. MSU used three safeties a bunch in 2019 with Alleyne, Konkol, and Henderson. Ty can come up and play more nickel which also means they don't have to play Tyrel as much on the inside. Webb opens up a lot for the defense.
