Re: Cost Of Attendance proposal
I have no idea but perhaps someone that knows can help. Can any male athlete do what Simone Biles does?

Specifically what she does? No. The male anatomy doesn't tend to be able to do those things.
What's your point?

What's so wrong with femininity?utucats wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 4:04 amSure sure. Maybe in a few hundred years the men will be so feminine that it’ll be a wash.77matcat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 9:32 amI’m ok with title nine. Believe you need to wait a few hundred years for women to be able to develop before you judge how exciting they are compared men’s. For example, let compare gymnastics, do you think more folks watch men’s vs women’s.
How the heck can the frontier conference offer wrestling???

The MHSA is offering girls wrestling soon, isn’t it? If so, I’d bet the Frontier will have that, too.77matcat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 06, 2020 9:32 amI’m ok with title nine. I believe GF is already.
But how could they afford to offer wrestling after T9 when either MSU or um couldn’t.

No real point. Just questioning if in the sport of gymnastics women aren’t equal to or better than men. No idea, but some of Simone’s floor routines look pretty impressive.

Nothing at all. It’s a fine trait in a female.Danster21 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 9:34 amWhat's so wrong with femininity?utucats wrote: ↑Sat Feb 08, 2020 4:04 amSure sure. Also, for those arguing men can’t perform female gymnastic routines as well as women, I take your point and admit it’s true. Now you admit that gymnastics is not anywhere in the same universe of popularity as NBA, NFL, or other professional men’s sports. The only example that can be given is that the greatest female gymnast ever is superior at bending in ways that men simply can’t. Apples and oranges there.
Perfect way to judge this argument. What ranking would the best female golfer have in the PGA? How about best female tennis player against the men? Admitting that men are genetically superior to women when it comes to athletics in 99% of all circumstances does not make one sexist, just makes them honest.

Sometimes these threads remind me of Alice in Wonderland......
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

I guess my main point is that fiscally, Title IX is an absolute disaster. It is one of a myriad of reasons for why college expenses, which directs to college prices, are so high.
Sports that don't make sense financially shouldn't have the option for scholarships. Make it a club sport.

Spending money to go watch a sporting event is also a fiscal disaster.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:43 amI guess my main point is that fiscally, Title IX is an absolute disaster. It is one of a myriad of reasons for why college expenses, which directs to college prices, are so high.

Re: Cost Of Attendance proposal
Dang. I'd enter into this discussion, however, I believe my two daughters did quite well in the non-revenue sports. My oldest daughter is doing quite well because of her collegiate sport and working with those she competed against in the Head of Charles. The other was on a state championship swimming team. Different strokes for...nevermind...carry on...
Some of the best sporting events I got to attend was the Georgia-Alabama gymnastics competitions and I don't profess to know a thing about how those are judged. If memory serves me correctly, Utah has picked up a few Montana kids and I don't believe that's governed by the MHSA is it?
Don't we produce an inordinate number of softball, baseball, soccer, wrestling, rodeo, and track and field athletes for other state universities?
I understand this is the football forum, but as long as it's already off the track thought it's worth noting Title IX does have a place. In fact, I'd really like to see our ski team and rifle teams back to what they were when I was young. The first female letterman for MSU was on the Rifle Team.

As long as you're not going over your entertainment budget, I don't see the harm in it.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 12:21 pmSpending money to go watch a sporting event is also a fiscal disaster.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:43 amI guess my main point is that fiscally, Title IX is an absolute disaster. Why is male and female in professional billiards and bowling separated??? Why not just combine them together????? or would men dominate it??

Using the prevailing logic in this thread, any entertainment expense and maybe any expense that doesn’t turn a monetary profit is an inappropriate use of money.BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 2:09 pmAs long as you're not going over your entertainment budget, I don't see the harm in it.TomCat88 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 12:21 pmSpending money to go watch a sporting event is also a fiscal disaster.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Sun Feb 09, 2020 11:43 amI guess my main point is that fiscally, Title IX is an absolute disaster.
