Bobcats in the Super Bowl
In an effort to draw attention away from my clearly out of line Trump shout out, and get back to talking about Bobcat Football... How many former Cats have been in, and/or won, a Super Bowl? Thinking Dane Fletcher, but did he play or was he on IR? Can't remember.

Re: Bobcats in the Super Bowl
Dane Fletcher played extensively in the first half of the Super Bowl, as their nickle linebacker. He forced Eli Manning into a number of bad plays due to being in good position in coverage. Then in the 2nd half, Belicheck put Brandon Spikes in that role instead, and as we all know, Brandon Spikes couldn't cover a baby with a bedsheet.nanacat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:14 amIn an effort to draw attention away from my clearly out of line Trump shout out, and get back to talking about Bobcat Football... Tony Boddie played in the Super Bowl with the Broncos back in 1987, back when they were known for losing Super Bowls.
I assume Sam McCullum must have played in a Super Bowl at some point, since he was with Minnesota in the 70s. He's well-known for being the second-best Jewish wide receiver in NFL history.

Cool thanks for sharing that! I was pretty sure Dane played, but I can hardly remember yesterday sometimes, so my memory was lacking.BLACKnBLUEnGOLD wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 10:34 amDane Fletcher played extensively in the first half of the Super Bowl, as their nickle linebacker. Re: Bobcats in the Super Bowl
Fletcher also made a huge tackle on a kickoff in that Superbowl.
Don't let this distract you from the fact that the griz blew a 22-0 lead.

Mike Person was a huge part of the success of the 49er run game yesterday. He was so technically sound, it was fun to watch him. Looks like he is ready to make a big contribution in the Super Bowl.

I forgot that we offered Garoppolo for the 2010 class. That would have been interesting.

Pay for the playoffs is as follows
Wild Card Round—Division Winner: $29,000
Wild Card Team: $27,000
Divisional Round: $29,000
Conference Championship: $54,000
Super Bowl Winner: $118,000
Super Bowl Loser: $59,000
So if Mike were to win the Super Bowl, he would have made an extra $230,000

But since he lives in California he will probably take home less than half of that.

Re: Bobcats in the Super Bowl
Jan Stenerud by himself, outscored the Minnesota Vikings in Kansas city's only Superbowl victory. Superbowl 4 was played 1/11/1970, at Tulane stadium with the Chiefs winning 23-7. Jan is the only MSU Bobcat to have a superbowl victory ring, and the only MSU Bobcat to be enshrined in the pro football hall of fame.

Kollar made it twice as Defensive Line Coach.
With Atlanta in loss to Broncos in XXXIII. And with Broncos in win over Carolina.

I always forget about Sam McCullum. He was from Kalispell, right? Does he have any contact with the program these days?

Yes, he is in contact with Choate. In fact, I heard he was going to toss the coin at one of the games this past season, but it must have fallen through for some reason.duelalumnicat wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 9:34 pmI always forget about Sam McCullum. Thanks Del, my research was in error. Two rings are better than one!BobcatDel wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 9:17 pmKollar has a ring as a coach for Broncos.Bobcatsinmso wrote: ↑Mon Jan 20, 2020 4:18 pmJan Stenerud by himself, outscored the Minnesota Vikings in Kansas city's only Superbowl victory.
