Romney gym restoration perhaps?Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 10:12 amThat walkthrough video is awesome. There is a lot of work left to go on it but I'm not going to stress about if it gets done on time. What I do stress about is how the roof edges lift up in the wind.
When looking at the stadium camera I've sometimes noticed a tall crane across campus visible behind the left side of the field house.
Does anyone know what is being built back there?

Romney is way off to the right of the view so I don't think that's what that crane is for.grizzh8r wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 10:14 amRomney gym restoration perhaps?Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 10:12 amThat walkthrough video is awesome. Roof edges will be permanently secured after the siding is installed in order to secure a watertight fit.

Yeah it just bothers me to see so much of the windward side of the roof lifting up when the wind picks up. Not sure they would get away with that in my neck of the woods, blowing 40 mph today with gusts up to 48.

Maybe it was just parked there till needed???grizzh8r wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 10:14 amRomney gym restoration perhaps?Joe Bobcat wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 10:12 amThat walkthrough video is awesome. They are doing work on part of the fieldhouse roof (not the dome, but the lower portions of the building I believe). Crane is stationed near the four way stop by Alumni.vike_king wrote: ↑Fri May 28, 2021 2:26 pmThe crane looks to be west of Romney.....like over by the film/tv building. When you see workers doing something outside the building.
Looks like they may be getting ready for some paving or concrete work.

Yeah looks like they poured the concrete outside the building. Wondering how far out the concrete will go eventually? It looks like there's a step down to the field in one of the renderings. Interested to see how they tie the building together with the end of the field. I think I saw a rail in one picture which makes sense.

Re: Bobcat Athletic Complex...Construction
When I looked at the drawings online, its a very low slope from the building to the field. There is going to be some concrete and some asphalt paving. It looks like the areas that are asphalt paved will be the areas removed when they do the north end zone and the concrete areas will remain.kennethnoisewater wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 9:06 amYeah looks like they poured the concrete outside the building. Pardon me if this has been discussed but....
There is a crew pouring cement right now, they all are wearing fluorescent green shirts.
I noticed a non-cement pourer walking around wearing a fluorescent orange shirt.
Different jobs = Different colored shirts????
Aircraft carrier deck crews do that, I think.

Us Beverley Hillbillies fans call it cement. SEE-ment. As in, ‘cement pond’ as they called their swimming pool.KeepTheChange wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 6:35 pmConcretevike_king wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 10:22 amPardon me if this has been discussed but....
