I remember when we made the playoffs and NDSU came here and whipped our butts. They played the same physical game that day
that we lacked for so many years, but now have. I do recall their fan base being very friendly, at least the ones that I ran into
at restaurants before and after the game. I hope we have a huge crowd at their place

The Bison fan base has gonn way downhill since 2010. Most of them over there have no idea what our team does, they have maybe watched hlaf of our game against AP and that is all. Virtually no football talk over there at all, any questions are answered by "8 of the last 9 national championships".

And MSU got beat by UND so obviously we will lose to the Bison....discussion over.

Is that the only tailgate lot? I have heard that Fargo tailgates well. From the pictures I would put it on par or below with MSU and UM. But, I keep hearing that NDSU's tailgate is far better than either Montana school.

The tailgating is nothing special. To be clear, I was treated great when I was there and people love their food and drink. Few drunk morons like every fanbase. But I have been to far better places to tailgate. As you mentioned, both MSU and UM are way better. If I'm honest I'll say very few have to offer what Missoula does based on location alone. It's a great experience.

North Dakotas was fine. Still my group and apparently about 2,000 other people decided the Buffalo Wild wings across the street was better...

There were 5000 empty seats for the Illinois State. That's a big step up if only 500 were available this morning.

Growing up in eastern Montana I have a lot of friends that have been lifetime NDSU fans. All of them expect this to be a good game. That may influence the fact that more of their fans will attend.

As a sidenote, they’ve all always made the comment about defense winning championship and defensive football. However a lot of them are extremely disappointed in how their offense has been performing. Offense does make for excitement.
