Neither of these teams is looking more than average on the offensive side of the ball. Albany qb is like a deer in headlights every time he gets the ball. Finally has his first completion of the game to the correct team in the second quarter.

Re: Albany vs central Connecticut ESPN3
CCU is making some stupid mistakes and went away from their run, which was working.

C Conn keeps getting themselves in a hole. Sacks, penalties, etc. Looks like Albany's pressure is getting to the CC QB now.
Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14.

Not impressed with either so far. I think Central Connecticut would be a middle of the road team in the BSC. Albany would be hanging out with Southern Utah and Northern Colorado. Albany's D is pretty good, but their offense is anemic.luckyirishguy25 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 12:47 pmWhat's the impression of both teams? Should we roll them or is this going to be a dog fight?

Re: Albany vs central Connecticut ESPN3
so after first half
neither team scares me we could beat either
CCSU:they can move the ball but have killed themselves multiple times, key to stop them is make 4th and long and bed but don't break allowing FG range is fine, might be a fight but cats have advantage
Albany: cats would roll but could be good CCSU defense instaed of bad Albany offense(will reassess in 2nd half)
NOTE! I typed this before the Albany TD!

Re: Albany vs central Connecticut ESPN3
if CConn wins and plays a whole game like they did the first quarter, they will be a very formidable opponent. From what I am seeing from both of these teams since then, I would hope we kick either of their a$$es

agree CCSU could possible be a challenge but think could win fairly easily if cats play goodCounter Assault wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 1:18 pmif CConn wins and plays a whole game like they did the first quarter, they will be a very formidable opponent. Haven't seen either team stretch the field. I don't think they have the team speed we do.

Re: Albany vs central Connecticut ESPN3
I found a link to a stream on egriz, got to watch the last 5 minutes. Neither team looks impressive. CCSU QB is the best player on the field, they should run him more since their Oline is missing blocks left and right.
That reciever for Albany is definitely their best player, but I don't think we'd gave to worry about him since their QB doesn't deal with pressure well.
I think our Defense terrorizes either one of these offenses, and our oline is far superior than anything either team should handle.... we should roll next week.

I am seldom one to be over confident, but if our game against either of these teams is at all close, we're not nearly as good as our ranking implies. For contrast, switch to the Illinois State-SEMO game. The size and speed of the athletes, compared to the CCSU-Albany game-is very noticeable.

Re: Albany vs central Connecticut ESPN3
CCSU looks a little more dynamic in the running game, but not a disciplined team. Cats defense and good crowd will frustrate them into mistakes if I had to guess. Their defense looks pretty stout against the run, but Albany’s run game doesn’t look very dynamic either. Pretty straight forward.
I’m still guessing Albany wins this in the 2nd half. Looked a little more composed with a steady QB. And although pretty straight up traditional, he throws well. Moves some but not a threat with the feet. Albany looked more composed like the first half was a lot of figuring out what CCSU was going to do against them on D. I think they’ll put the ball in the air more in the 2nd.

in case this wasn't mentioned. if you have Charter Cable and have the ESPN app on your phone, you can watch any of these games and the quality is good

I saw Cal Poly and UNC are looking for new head coaches. Not a surprise I guess.
I think we got a good draw.

Update from SEMO-Illinois State: SEMO's quarterback, Santacatarina (or however you spell it) is out. They defnitely miss him. SEMO just hit a 45 yard field goal (remember that guy hit from 55 at our place). 7-3 ISU in the first quarter.

And there it is. 2 pass plays, both strikes in the middle of the field. 14-7 Albany
