Week 13 imperialism map is out

Post by Danster21 » Tue Nov 26, 2019 9:57 am

Here is the regular season map:

Here is the playoff map (it's a fresh reset):

And I'm sure someone will come in here not knowing what this all is and berate it, so here's the reddit link explaining it:

Can someone explain the Alaska and Hawaii map? I understand the playoff map but not the regular season map.

Goes to show how big Montana when Sheridan County is actually closer to Grand Forks than it is to Bozeman.

There's the truth, and then there's what's reported in the papers.

So if we beat Montana, we get the land that they had, and since they beat Weber, we get that too? Sort of like Risk...is that how it works? Since Sac St beat us early, we earned the land back because Weber beat them. I think I see how it works. We were the ultimate winner by beating the Griz.

Griz are closest to Alaska of playoff teams. Sac gets Hawaii for the same reason

Thanks, but that doesn’t answer my question. I understand the playoff map, but not the regular season map. Why does SEMO have parts of Alaska and MSU and NDSU split up Hawaii?

Correction, I can see why NDSU has one Hawaiian Island, although it looks stupid since there are no FCS schools there.

SEMO beat Jacksonville State, which beat EWU early in the year, Alaska was split between PSU and EWU before the season started

On the playoff map, it appears Plentywood has defected to UND. What’s up with that?

It’s by county and whatever school your county is closest to is where you’re assigned, regardless of state.

I heart maps.

This goes back to the start of week 1. And when any land that one team owns touches land that they also own, the territories consolidate. Our land chunk is so big because of the cannibalism at the top of the conference. This is also not a map of rooting interest, it's, as TomCat describes, based on which county's epicenter is closest to which stadium. The playoff map will also be edited as the post season goes on.

Anyone know how to get this map back up? There's one for the playoffs now.

Really nice to look at the latest one put out and not see UM on it anymore. Would be pretty sweet seeing that whole map in Blue and Gold.
