Unsung Heroes

Time to highlight those guys who normally don't get all the press but had outstanding games. My nomination is Chad Kanow on special teams. Dude literally lit up the griz kick returner on three different returns. In fact, on the field goal where we called for unsportsmanlike and had to kick-off at the 20, I thought the griz were gonna get great field position and Kanow lit up the returner at the um 25 yard line. Turned out to be just the touchback!

That tackle was actually James Campbell. However, 100% agree on Kanow. He was a demon on special teams yesterday. Had several big hits.

Thanks for the correction, Vim. I thought they called Kanow's name on that one. But man, Kanow waas everywhere on special teams.

Yes he was. Also, Blake Flovin had a couple of close chances to block a few of their punts but Im glad he pulled up. Just no stupid penalties in this game by MSU. Allowed the one long return to Flowers but that was it.

Okada and Marshall have to be on this list. Ifanse not exactly unsung, but after battling injuries all year he looked like beast mode out there.

TJ. He is a damn good guy on the KO team. He was blowing up blockers and made a couple tackles as well.

Damien Washington! He covered Roberts like a fly on sh*t all game long. Had at least 3 PBUs and made some great one on one tackles. Should have had himself a pick or 2 also!

Tristan Bailey yesterday. Leg damn near fell off from overuse. Was damn near perfect, hit the 47 yarder to end the 1st half to have it waived off with the false start, got pressure on the follow up 52 yarder and pulled it. But kept putting points on the board, kept UM pinned on kick offs.

Troy’s replacement on defense. They kept saying Okada but I think that it was Keaton Anderson. His speed on pass coverage and containing the run was key. GREAT PLANNING BY IOANE!

I thought Tyrel Thomas played out of his mind yesterday. He covered Toure well...often without help.

RJ Fitzgerald. When yo need a d-end or linebacker blocked. RJ is your man.

It's Ty Okada. He took #14 this year after Keaton stepped away to recover from an injury. Same thing happened with Jalen Cole's #8. Level Price Jr. took that number.

Jared Padmos….not only did he not allow any return yards, but as he has done all year he also made great plays on snaps that were less than perfect. When you talk about unsung, Padmos's punting and holding has been a huge factor in a ton of games in the last four years, most of it ….unnoticed!

Keaton Anderson hasn't been on the team all fall. It was Okada.

And Daniel Hardy was the Sam that came in behind Troy, fyi.

Campbell hasn't been what I thought he would be on offense, but he's a great ST's player. His speed is nice there!

Yep, Hill is a big part of the reason why the defense has improved the 2nd half of the season.

Big props to Okada, it ain't easy making open field form tackles on JLM but he made it look easy.
