Tucker Rovig!
Deserves his own thread. Critics can say what they want but he played well yesterday and guides the Cats to a critical win. Yep he missed a couple throws and made a couple mistakes but the beautiful throws he made and the the good decisions he made FAR outweighed any negatives. Great Job Tucker! He's still a young QB but he's improving week to week and is getting better at limiting mistakes an playing within his role. I bet we see some surprisingly good passing numbers against the Griz.
Great time to be a BOBCAT!

Re: Tucker Rovig!
There has been a lot made of the idea that Rovig only plays well in blowouts, and that he would never play well when the Bobcats actually needed him.
Myth busted.

Re: Tucker Rovig!
I think he is getting better at putting the last play behind him. He is also running with more confidence in the +1 game

I always felt like what we saw out of him in the easy games like Wagner and Norfolk State was a preview of his upside potential.

He really performed well especially considering the oline play wasn't dominant yesterday. I really like how he is coming into his own.
While registering my vehicles the assessor stated "I have had both Cat and Griz students and alums work for me and the Griz end up working under the direction of the Cats."

Re: Tucker Rovig!
Watching NFL today, EVERY QB has bad throws. I will never get how every one of TRs are proof he is horrible. Let's go beat the Gtiz and get a nice seed with him!

Re: Tucker Rovig!
Completely disagree...we are a bad offense when Rovig is making decisions. TA and TJ sparked us to the win...Rovig will not beat Griz. Unfortunately TA looks really banged up. Bad for the Cats on Saturday if he is limited at all.

Re: Tucker Rovig!
What we got yesterday was probably his ceiling against "good" defenses this year but I think another off-season and he could be really solid.
TA and TJ made some great plays yesterday but Rovig definitely contributed. We saw they cannot carry the team by themselves at this point of the year. They need help with how banged up they are.

Re: Tucker Rovig!
He was so good yesterday they took the ball out of his hand midway through the third Qtr and put it in Troy, Travis, and Ifanse’s hands.
He didn’t make any big mistakes yesterday but he really didn’t do anything for the win at all. Three of the long throws were way under-thrown and the receivers made the plays and then he had three balls that were so far out of bounds the receivers had no chance. If you looked at the stats and didn’t watch the game you wouldn’t have even known he pretty much didn’t do anything in the second half, matter of fact he only completed a few passes in the second half. The game was won by special teams, great second half defense, and then Troy, Travis, and Ifanse.

He keeps improving. Best of thing is he doesn’t put us in bad situations. Pretty young kid, hopefully we get another solid performance this weekend.

Re: Tucker Rovig!
People just love to hate on him. It's pretty comical at this point. If Ifanse played all game yesterday the game would have been a lot different. Our other backs get swallowed up and taken down so much easier than Ifanse. In the 1st half Rovig was the one having to make passes to get the offense downfield because we were averaging about 3.5 yards per carry outside the TJ run for a TD. When we finally got to the point that we were able to start wearing Davis down we saw more runs because that is what worked and Davis was clearly getting tired. But sure Rovig didn't do anything to help us win

Re: Tucker Rovig!
He could be 30 for 30 with 400 yards and we’d STILL put Andersen, jonsen and ifanse in there. Those packages have nothing to do with how the qb is playing, choate said so himself earlier this season.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:19 pmHe was so good yesterday they took the ball out of his hand midway through the third Qtr and put it in Troy, Travis, and Ifanse’s hands.

I appreciated his willingness to eat the sack when necessary. He didn't panic or do something foolish under pressure for the most part. And there was quite a bit of pressure.

EXACTLY! Sorry, I should have specified. This thread is for fans that see the positives in the things Rovig did well yesterday and positives and potential he's showing with where he's currently at. Negative posters criticizing him and calling out any mistakes he's made, feel free to post your negative comments in one of the many other threads (where you've probably already done that.)ilovethecats wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:40 pmHe could be 30 for 30 with 400 yards and we’d STILL put Andersen, jonsen and ifanse in there. Re: Tucker Rovig!
This was the best overall game i thought for Tucker. He made some critcal throws for first downs that in earlier games were not happening. We need him this way for game vs Griz and the playoffs for Cats to go very far...

Agree completely. Cats will never get over the hump with Rovig at QB. Doesn't have the it factor...never has, never will.Hi-Line Bobcat wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:19 pmHe was so good yesterday they took the ball out of his hand midway through the third Qtr and put it in Troy, Travis, and Ifanse’s hands.

Re: Tucker Rovig!
Rovig was only 3/9 on 3rd down yesterday, however literally all nine 3rd downs were 6+ yards and a number were over 10 yards.
The 48 yard strike on 3rd and 9 at the MSU 3 and the 13 yard conversion on 3rd and 10 were good signs.
He also completed balls on a few others where his guy at least had a chance to make the play.
The running game needs to give him more manageable 3rd downs next week. You can't be trying to convert 6 to 12 yards every time.

Remember when the Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer? Was he the best QB in the NFL?

It's possible to not believe that he's "the guy" long term while still appreciating that a had a fairly good game on the road against a quality opponent.KIX wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 3:56 pmAgree completely.
