MSU should win this game...just like it should’ve won vs North Dakota. Maier is very good, but he’s more Cookus/ Ketteringham than Thomson/Sneed. MSU struggles with dual threat QBs, but has been decent (not great) against pocket passers.

MSU still hasn’t shook off the gaffe-bug (see quick-kick, pick-6 vs UNC), but that’s all that’s giving me trepidation about this game.

Unlike a previous poster I don't think this game comes down to the Cat offense vs their defense. I'm not worried there. Cats will roll up a bunch of yards against the Davis defense. Points will follow.

I think the question is pass defense versus Davis. If the defensive backs play well Cats win by two or three scores. If they don't play well, I'm afraid a shoot out type game is going to be a Davis win.

I'm going 38-24 Cats. Looking over Davis' games and overall statistics, it is clear that their defense has real trouble in all facets. Offensively, they live and die by the pass. I expect lots of pressure on Maier from Sterk/Anderson and up the middle. Because Maier is not a running threat, they will be able to bring more pressure, though screens and quick passes can offset that. Offensively, I think we see more of the same, but believe a healthy Ifanse is worth 1.0 more yards/carry than any other back on the team. As others have said, turnovers are a great equalizer here, but I think we survive a couple mistakes and still win.

I think it'll be a 7-10 point game throughout and our run game does them in in the 4th, extending the lead to 3 scores by games end.

Choate seemed very relaxed and confident but obviously wants his team to know this team is no pushover and is going to be a big challenge. I predict the Cats win a close game but it wouldn't surprise me if we win by three TDs. Our lines will control the game.

Choate seemed very relaxed and confident but obviously wants his team to know this team is no pushover and is going to be a big challenge. Hi Line has become a Choate hater. His posts over the last month or more have all been overly harsh. We are 7-2 against FCS and this guy wants a change. He seems to be fixated on us failing instead of reasons for optimism.

I think the lines learned a lot vs SAC. They’ve been lights out ever since. Complete passing game meltdown in the ND game killed MSU, but they still nearly won.

Ya, whatever floats your boat. Choate's teams have gotten better every year, and every year they have gotten better as the season goes on, playing their best in November. I see no reason that trend won't continue, we'll see. Choate is 9-3 in November and that includes the first year where he inherited a pretty bad team. The 3 losses include playoffs.

ND, SAC and Semo you said 28-27 for all three. WIU you said 27-24. Poly 31-28, NAU 38-35. You didn’t say anything for NC or SUU. I didn’t bother looking at TT.
