Another good day for the defense.

This is the aspect of the team I was most interested in today. They're on a roll. I thought if they came into Greeley and didn't stay on it, that it might put a chink in their armor.

They starters have only allowed one touchdown in the last 13 quarters and it was a trick play (double-pass).

Starters only gave up one play over 8 yards.

You beat me to it.

1 touchdown allowed in 3 games..... wow. Defense is playing lights out!!!!
Before the season started I thought that the defense would be the key to the whole season. They've played like I thought they could the past three games. Obviously, UND, SUU and UNC aren't top of the line teams, but you need to start somewhere. UCD and UM are better offensively, but I don't think they're in the same class as SAC when they came to Bozeman. The wins won't come as easily these next two games, but I like where MSU is right now versus any other time during the season.

Today the punt by Roving and the Pick-6 by Roving were the only damaging plays. Steel almost made a big mistake when he nearly fumbled that punt. I didn't think Choate's antics on the sidelines were productive, but the team was able to weather all that and still play impressively four out of the five phases of the game.

What's completely amazing is that MSU had three defensive players score touchdowns, but not while they were playing defense. I mean that's pretty damn ridiculous. A defensive tackle catches a TD pass from a linebacker, a linebacker scores on an 11-yard run and another linebacker scores on a 70+ yard run off a fake punt.

I've seen a defense score three TDs, which is amazing in itself, but that's while they were playing, ya know, defense.

You mean the defensive player that is currently on the watch list for the national offensive player of the year award? \:D/

This puts a bit of a twist to the old adage that the best offense is a good defense.

How about Troy running downfield with a 168 lb receiver and breaking up the pass?

It's been so nice having Josh Hill back. He just sees it and reacts so much faster than the other guys.

I was saying this to my brother during the game. His instincts are just way ahead of the other lbs outside maybe Troy.

His instincts are better but Troy is just more athletic. Josh Hill coming back is the best thing to happen to this defense all year. He is the most instinctive, and sure tackling LB we've had in a while. His back issues minimized his career.

Maybe my favorite play of the game and went unnoticed to many. Not sure if true or not but the announcers said that guy was known as UNC’s β€œspeedy” receiver too.

Either way it was impressive

I believe that's correct.

Another great by-product of the defense being elite is the absolute silence of Kane's critics. Well done to all.

Oh don't worry. We play top offenses the final two weeks so they'll be ready to throw their garbage.

Yes. This defense only looked good the last two weeks because we played Southern Utah and Northern Colorado....

If you're a Bobcat fan and can't see a stark contrast between the 2014/2015 defenses and this years defense, I don't know what to tell you. The run defense has been exceptional all season.

Completely agree. Not to mention this defense 5 weeks ago and this defense right now.

I haven't done the leg work to totally verify this because it would take a while, but I am pretty sure that no FCS opponent have matched or exceeded their average scoring output when they've played the Cats. This is more impressive when you consider how many points have been directly or indirectly attributable to ST disasters.

I feel like this needs to be a tag line or on coffee cups or something

That linebacker with the fake punt showed some real speed. Maybe we should make him a wildcat quarterback!πŸ˜€
