Completely agree. My guess is these guys have way more than one way to run a fake punt. Just something for future teams to consider going forward.allcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:39 pmI like any new wrinkle. The next teams will be keeping people back to guard against it. Keep adding things so that you are not who you were.cowgirlcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 12:03 pmWhat do you think of the fake punt? Should they have done it or saved it for a time they really needed it? Or is it to just get the play out there and it has a different look next time? It was fun to watch though!

I’m guessing there is a short pass out of that fake as well.
Coaches will watch how the opponent is covering a punt before making a call. Good teams watch to make sure that a fake won’t happen.

Re: Golden Koozie
Also a lot of those type of plays are opponent dependent, meaning that depending on how they defend the punt, a fake may or may not be an option. even if we hadn't used it the same fake may not be available to use in another game just because of how they line up to defend the punt. Using it just makes other teams know that we will if they show a hole in their punt defense and they will spend time this week making sure we don't. The more things a team has to do to prepare to play is means that there is less time to spend on other things that we do.allcat wrote: ↑Mon Nov 11, 2019 1:39 pmI like any new wrinkle. Re: Golden Koozie
I finally have come up with a question... Still am amazed by the delay of game call. Yes we ran somebody out probably late but it still seems to me the official may have caused the delay. His hands were on the ball during the countdown. Correct?
Thanks...GOOOOOO BOBCATS...

Re: Golden Koozie
If the offense subs, the defense gets a chance to sub as well. MSU subbed late, so the official paused play for a few seconds to give Davis their chance to sub also. Seemed odd at the time, but I think it was the correct call.RickRund wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 10:17 amI finally have come up with a question... Still am amazed by the delay of game call. Re: Golden Koozie
I put this in the Big Win thread and I think you've discussed it before but IF the Cats beat UM this weekend, does it finally count as a "signature win" for Choate? I feel like every time we beat a good team, they become trash and its always "well he hasn't beat anyone but UM" but now UM is the biggest game of the year, rivalry or not.

Re: Golden Koozie
So many potential questions to be answered. I keep thinking about these all week.
Can our secondary cover these wr group?
Can the Cats front 7 get to an immobile Sneed enough to disrupt the passing game?
Can Rovig be proficient against a defense susceptible to passing attacks? When the game is on the line do we just put in our athletes?
Is troy healthy enough to have an impact? Should he sit to ensure he is ready for the playoffs?
I have probably twenty more. . . Long week

1. Why do Grizzly fans all smell like french fries?
2. How many Grizzly fans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
3. Why would you call your stadium Washington, don't they know they are in Montana?
4. Why do Cat fans argue with griz trolls?
5. Why are there so many disparaging words that have um in the middle of them?

Duh. It's from work.
2. How many Grizzly fans does it take to screw in a light bulb?
The world will never know. They haven't done it yet.
3. Why would you call your stadium Washington, don't they know they are in Montana?
Unable to provide a reasonable answer.
4. Why do Cat fans argue with griz trolls?
To spin the tops of the liberals.
5. Why are there so many disparaging words that have um in the middle of them?
Facts are facts.

Is it bad that I want the Griz to lose solely so that Hauck gets fired?
Ok there's a little more to it than that....but not much

A simple loss doesn't get anyone fired this year on either side.

Re: Golden Koozie
Submit your questions for the Beatdown in Bozeman recap - we'll probably talk a little playoffs as well for a bird's eye perspective.
Try and keep it somewhat clean, we're a family show after all. Will be hard this week!
