He had to have had at least 3 TFL today too. Maybe more.
And on (at least) one of those he was being held big time. Thought NSU was going to strip his jersey off

Sterk and crew will be difference makers against NAU. I have a strong suspicion that the Bobcat d-line will be able to get to Cookus.

We all know Cookus is one darned good QB but is his offensive line talented enough to keep him from getting harassed and sacked?

I watched part of their game and Illinois State had him in on his back numerous times. He looked a little banged up. Official statistics say 5 sacks by 5 different players. So it doesn’t look like they are good enough to protect him. And it’s hard for me to believe Illinois State d-line is as good as ours..

Glad to hear that. I also doubt that any of the Ill State players hit him like Sterk will.

Can't make up my mind as to which is better - 55-21 or 48-14.

Is it too early to wonder if Sterk is NFL caliber?

I read somewhere that he is already being projected as a 3rd or 4th rounder....

take his production out of the equation (which continues to go up and up). Just his measurables alone will have nfl scouts drooling.

Not sure, but it’s certainly not too early to say he’s defensive player of the week caliber.

He reminds me of Jared Allen when he played at ISU. I just wish he would get the same kind of press that Olson gets. I just hope that Sterk can keep doing his thing. He will end up with a very impressive senior season.

He also had two quarterback hurries and 10 total tackles.

Jared Allen is a good comparison. That was another dude, when you were watching him play he not only LOOKED the part physically, but also played the part (just a man among boys).

Is the brace on Sterks elbow just precautionary?

They're gonna have to be, the way our secondary played. Really really hope Filer is about ready to go, we could use him against NAU.

Loved watching Brad Daly and Caleb Schreibeis play, so no offense to them, but so far this year, Sterk looks to be more dominant both of those guys.

The best pass rushers in the history of the conference that I have witnessed have been Chris Gocong, Jared Allen, and Mark Fellows and I don't think any of them had 25.

You are probably right. I was in a pretty good mood after the game. But I stand by my prediction that he'll be a Buck finalist.

Didn't Mark Fellows have something like 24 in 1984?
