Completely agree on the Jody Owens comp. Plays low and a very fluid mover in every direction. Also has a nose for the football.

Depending on position nose for the football can mean two different things. Is it being able to track the ball on running plays, follow the ball on passing plays or is it both in this instance?
Regardless this class is shaping up nicely. Can I assume at 6’ he is recruited as a safety? It seems Choate has been targeting more “length” for the outside backer positions from my amateur recruiting knowledge

Also plays RB. Had a sweet touchdown run in the state championship game. He sees the field well.catgrad05 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 12:14 pmVimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 11:14 amCompletely agree on the Jody Owens comp. When I say "nose for the football" in regard to linebackers, I mean that the player doesn't get fooled very often (reverses, counters, etc.), knows how to defeat blocks, knows how to fit the run, and knows how to take proper angles to track the ball on outside runs. Always being around the ball also usually equates to max effort and a high I.Q. of what an offense is doing each play so its a high compliment for a defensive football player.catgrad05 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 12:14 pmVimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 11:14 amCompletely agree on the Jody Owens comp. He hits pretty hard. Even when they’re running away from him their heads snap.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 29, 2019 12:23 pmWhen I say "nose for the football" in regard to linebackers, I mean that the player doesn't get fooled very often (reverses, counters, etc.), knows how to defeat blocks, knows how to fit the run, and knows how to take proper angles to track the ball on outside runs. He's Brayden Konkol all over again.VimSince03 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 28, 2019 3:08 pmYup. Very active hands. Exceptional at shedding blocks. Lightning bolt to the football.

Yeah i guess i don't see Konkol. I see more Jody Owens. Konkol isn't as quick laterally as this kid. That's why Jody is my comp.

I see more of a Jody Konkol or a Brayden Owens. I'll take either.

Vim says Jody Owens, Choate says Mac Bignell... I think we’d all be ecstatic if he turned out as good as either of those two
