Going to be some attrition in the QB room no doubt.
My prediction for the QB room next year is:

Tucker Rovig (Jr.)
Matt McKay (Jr.)
Blake Thelen (Rfr.)
Tommy Mellott (Fr.)
Jake D'Agistino (Fr.)

John Knight will move positions. Casey Bauman and Ruben Beltran will transfer.

Again, just my prediction.
What happens if we make the NC game and both Beltran and Bauman have entered the portal? Who is the backup??
Even if they enter the Portal, they will be on the team until the season ends.
If the coach chooses to let them remain with the team. That is not a rule for the portal. Coaches can choose to tell a player they are no longer allowed to attend any team activities if they wish.

I was referring to Beltran and I would suppose it would be the same for Bauman if he were to enter the Portal, that they will be staying to the end of the season. Both have been an integral part of the team.

I wonder why we didn't move Beltran to RB.

Uhhh...because it's not his skill set?

Per Colter just now on Tootell & Nuanez, he has heard 22 is the expected number of recruits to sign with MSU tomorrow.

Does that include walk-ons and transfers?

Like, McKay and D'Agastino?

Basically what I'm trying to relay is that there are two additional recruits expected that aren't listed on the first page of this thread.

Thanks VimBro.

But if they aren't announcing walk-ons or transfers, there could be more surprises! And even more if some kids wait to sign.

Is it me or do some of our recruits (especially LB) seem shorter this year? It wasn’t that long ago Choate was emphasizing length on his recruiting goals

He's learning.

The "new guys" SO FAR have been Shayden King (offensive tackle) and Tommy Campbell (defensive end). Shayden is actually a kid I had heard was going to sign last year as a PWO. He graduated in 2019 from Big Timber and was part of a senior class that led the Sheepherders to the Class B semifinals. High school teammates of current Bobcat football player Ethan Bullock and track athlete Casey Gunlikson. Shayden was an all-conference lineman for a few years and has all the potential to develop into a quality offensive tackle. Big framed and long kid!

As for Tommy, he is a sleeper out of Columbus, MT. His development will depend on how big he can get and if he can continue to develop his pass rush, which was his specialty in high school due to his athleticism and length.

So has Shayden King enrolled anywhere this fall. Can he enroll this spring and get spring practice in and still have 5 to play 4?

BTW, Great job Vim with keeping up with recruiting. I cant keep up with it and am not good at evaluating these young guys. Your work is greatly appreciated.

King is a big dude and comes from good athletic parents. With good coaching, he could be a real good OL. He plays with a little nasty and that is a good thing on the Ol. You are right on with Tommy, if he can get the size, he will contribute.

I know its early and things really don't come into focus until fall camp next year, but Charles Brown is the best player in this class in my opinion. A 100% playmaker that this offense needs to continue to add every year. He's short but he does not play small if that makes sense.

So kind of like Juwan Green from U Albany?

Charles certainly flashes to make defenses pay in a variety of ways whether its speed or contested catch ability.
