Pretty exciting. According to Hero, of the top 20 recruits in the Big Sky, 7 are committed to the Cats. That group of 7 does not include Mellott, Robinson, Richards, O Reilly or Ryan.

I gotta say something fishy has to be going on with U of South Dakota. How in the world do they get a player from Florida, a decommit from USF, with 8 power 5 offers and 18 FBS offers to go to SOUTH DAKOTA?
His brother plays there.

And don't forget, we have Max Lenzy who has an "offer" from Oregon.

Most offers are conditional. If you see a kid with big FBS offers going FCS, then he didn't have a true offer.
Thanks for clearing up that his brother plays there. That at least makes sense to me. I can see 1-2 FBS offers not being a true offer, but 18??
It's not common, but it does happen. People can claim anything. Remember, coaches can't comment. Hell, a few years ago there was a kid that had a commitment ceremony signing with Cal (I think), and it turns out he made the whole thing up.

More common what happens is they say something like, "hey, you're a junior, we're impressed, we'd like to offer you a scholarship." Kid waits it out, doesn't improve like they expect, and all of a sudden he doesn't have an offer anymore. Kind of similar to what happened to Hayden Ekern.

Seeing that win, in that atmosphere, there's no way he's going somewhere else.

Agreed, not sure how you can say no to that plus everything else MSU has to offer, including a good chance at being a 4 year starter.

I dunno man, the way Rovig has been playing, gonna be pretty tough to get that starting job.

I can't tell if you're being sarcastic haha. He has done what's been asked of him and improved. But we all know coaches are always looking to improve at every position all the time.

The fun part is Choate put high school QB’s everywhere. LB, WR, even at DE. :D

They'll definitely let them compete, I don't think Choate will lay down the red carpet unless it was a 4 or 5 star kid who was looking to go somewhere else. I think Grady may appreciate the commitment to winning. Either way I'm not worried about it; Choate has said that he feels confident he can get any high school kid to commit if they have a visit and this was a visit and THEN some (actually and then a TON)

Believe it or not, I'm actually not being sarcastic haha.

I know the coaches are looking to improve at that position. With that said, it's really difficult to be a 4 year starter at QB. It will be a competition, but I'm hoping he's able to RS, then start as a sophomore.

Wonder if Choate could ask Peterson for a favor...recruiting battle heating up.

Anyone know how many (and who) recruits we had at Cat/Griz?

Hopefully we had some potential big $$$ donors too.......who wouldn't want to be a part of this after witnessing Saturday's game.

I know Choate doesn't love using official visits for games. The atmosphere is great, but he doesn't have a chance to spend much time with the recruit and his family because he's busy with all of the game day stuff. But hopefully we had a lot of unofficial visits this weekend. What a great environment.

If this weekend wouldn't persuade a recruit to come here, nothing would.

Rick Pitino then responds, "hold my beer".
