Oh, and Manning has a full.iaafan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 8:03 amHard to say just how much scholarship aid is used by that group. There’s a difference between a full ride and full ride scholarship.
One could (and I would) that a scholarship to a DL would be a better usage than one towards Cole. No offense to the young man, he was a good player, but neck injuries are scary and we have a good CB room. For his own health, I think he should quit football.
They had offers from other schools, they're out of state players so tuition is high, and I just don't think they come here without full rides. It's possible I'm wrong on a couple, but I'd be surprised.
Regardless, we have a pretty full CB room, and some of those guys need to get on the field.

Looks like his offers are from Ivy League, academies, and big sky teams. Must be an outstanding student.Bozcat003 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 6:52 pmAnother who I know is on a visit.

I’ve been holding out hope that we may land him. I’ve noticed he was in committed and seems like a good backwbtfg wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 7:17 pmLooks like his offers are from Ivy League, academies, and big sky teams. Just a guess, but I think we sign 1 more RB and it's between Elliot and Minaya Olivo.

Agreed. Both have shown a lot of interest - both are highly recruited around the West

Re: 2020 commitments (24) and offers
I've been waiting for one of them to commit. Both seem very good.
Olivo ran a verified 4.5 40 at 190 lbs with a 36" vertical. Kid is fast and explosive. He's a little raw as a runner, but he's the kind of athlete you just get on campus and figure out later. Fwiw, a 4.5 laser is probably a 4.4 hand time. Very, very, fast. He's a dive back in a triple option, so kind of hard to evaluate.
Elliot just seems like a natural RB to me. Reminscent of Ifanse, faster and smaller. Great instincts.
Heck, I'd take both of em.

If I had to guess, Olivo comes to MSU, Elliot goes to Portland State.bobcat99 wrote: ↑Sat Feb 01, 2020 8:15 pmI've been waiting for one of them to commit. Both seem very good.

Yup just waiting for the chips to fall. If Elliot is here this weekend I think we get him. Both are good backs and both would be recruits that Choate would want under the radar. We have got one rally good back a year. Even though we stole one from the state of California already I just have a hunch that we get one more from Washington or Oregon

Kind of funny that they both go to Central Catholic High School, just in different states.

Army, Navy, and Air Force are probably the only schools I'm not bummed about losing a good recruit too. Good luck to the young man!

I think Minaya Olivo committed. Just can't confirm with a BOOM yet. I'm happy I was wrong.

If that happens, then it would be a pretty dang good running back class. Holy smokes.
