Just got an e-mail from the Alumni foundation with this artist's conception on the new training facility. Looks a bit different from the images we had been looking at before.

Image
I’m not sure that’s what it’ll look like, but it’s going to have great curb appeal. It’ll be the best looking exterior on a sports facility in Montana. Huge for recruiting.
It’s going to be sweet trust me...
Which Architectural firm is doing the design?
The project goes before the BOR this month. Once it’s approved they can go about hiring an architect.

Incorrect. A&E Architects / Crawford Architects (partnering firms) have been selected already.

Beautimous! I like how MSU is streamlining this. Getting work done out in front of the red tape.

How far along are you with the design? Are any of the renderings close to what the final product will look like?

One thing I have yet to see in all of these renditions is the score board. Will the current North side score board/ video screen be on top of the new north end zone structure? Will we be getting a new larger one and move the current one to the top of the south end-zone? Will we revert back to hand scoring on an overhead projector like we used to do with bowling back last century? (kidding of course) I hope we will be getting an upgrade on what we currently have. The replay screen with the side bar advertising is pretty useless, except during playoffs when they use the entire screen as advertising is not allowed. The bigger the better!

Go to the agenda for today's meeting. Not much more there than the contracts between the University and the Foundation.

A new videoboard is not apart of this phase according to the Facilities Master Plan. A new videoboard and sound system is stated to occur when we bowl in the north endzone. With that said, I have no idea what they are doing with the current videoboard. My guess is it will stay in the same place as it currently sits.

The Chronicle Article referred to the seating in the North end zone. I thought that wasn't apart of this phase? What am I missing?

Are you talking about this?:

“MSU plans to build a two-story, 40,000-square-foot addition wrapped around the north end zone of Bobcat Stadium as the new home of Bobcat Football. The north end zone, the area closest to Kagy Boulevard, would be upgraded with bowl-style seating.”

I’m not sure how to read that.
Wishful thinking, It would be if they had the money?
Or, future tense, it would be done at some unspecified point in the future?
Or,

I don’t think the seating will be included. If it said “will be” then I’d be wondering.

I read that as well and had the same question. Maybe it is going to include seating? If so, nothing up until those couple of sentences has lead anybody to believe that. Anybody know?

I met with a MSU Foundation rep yesterday. I asked her about seating and if there was any talk of moving that portion/phase of the overall plan up. She became very quiet. :-k

In my minds eye it will look odd in that end zone without seating. Partly because I doubt there’ll be windows on that level for the very reason that seating will be put in someday. Maybe it’ll look okay. I’ve yet to see a rendering that doesn’t include the seating.
