Feel free to have me to delete this if it's already been discussed or you guys wanted to keep this info on the downlow for an offseason episode...

I had some free listening time on my drive back from Bozeman to Spokane this afternoon and frankly all I wanted to do was consume more Bobcat material... so after listening to the instant reaction I went back and listened to the pre-season prediction and overview episodes today on my drive... here are the results! (this is posted in good fun, and not in the utucats "I told you so" Tommy Mellott thread tone)

Foley's Picks went 8-3 and Thorny went 9-2 (if you picked with your brain and not your heart about Cat-Griz you would have been 10-1, but I would have done the same). Both predicted a loss at Weber and a win against the Gris, and Foley lost the pick on the Eastern game.

Some notably good takes off of the top of my head from those episodes was the prediction that McKay wouldn't start the whole year, the picks for MVP of offense and defense which included Ifanse, Hardy and Troy, as well as that Hardy would breakout this year along with Okada in terms of conference recognition.

One that didn't hold up but I didn't disagree with included the breakout of Jaden Smith and Jaharie Martin, but I'd be willing to repeat those at the start of next season. Elliott was also a pick for breakout player and I don't know if he "broke out" necessarily, at least to the hype we had before the season but he still played an important role in the offense all year. Nate Stewart was also mentioned as an outside person to receive targets this year, but in the defense of you guys I believe he was hurt at the time so that may have played a factor in the depth chart you were looking at.

Then to pull some of the "ugly", the unfortunate statement to add about the QB room, "Tommy Mellott is also there but I don't see him factoring much into the group at all". I'll also add the conversation that "Troy might never be Troy again"... I'm glad these both didn't age well!

Enjoyed listening back and seeing that we were able to exceed expectations and now we are staring a National Championship down the barrel!

Hey that's not too bad!

I've been meaning to go back and listen to that episode. If I wasn't so lazy we could do a recap episode where I clip snippets like that and we discuss how right or wrong we were but man that sounds like a lot of work and a lot of listening to my own voice which is never that fun.

Thanks as always for listening!

A few notes from the most recent reaction show:

- Willie did come back in and was celebrating at the end of the game
- The great mystery of Brody Grebe's number compared to Kenneth Eiden lived on...but Brody switched to #14 due to Nate Stewart playing special teams. Eiden did not play. Brody has now been #6, #9, #10, #11, and #14 since last fall.

Rather than dive into the matchups and previews, we decided to look at the path MSU has taken two to Frisco. Basically, how did we get here? How were we feeling after we beat UNC earlier in the year? We look at the events that lead to MSU making a playoff run to Frisco.

Stay tuned for some more in-depth preview content next week!

I agree completely! I sent it to a buddy and told him Colter scratched an itch I didn’t know I had with him talking schemes and behind the scene stuff. Was my favorite episode to this point
