Any new podcasts coming our way this summer?
We were just talking about needing to fire up the podcast machine. Discuss all of the offseason moves and transfers, preseason rankings and polls, and anything else anyone wants us to chat about on sort of a status update type episode, just let us know. We'll also start our preview stuff later in the summer, and we'll release 1-2 ex-player interviews as well.

We'll also be attending the Big Sky football kickoff event here at the end of July so expect an episode from that.

Hey there - Ryan and I will be at the Big Sky kickoff media days in Spokane. We are going to talk to Amandre Williams, Lewis Kidd, and Coach Vigen. We’d be happy to ask them some fan submitted questions as well.

For Vigen- What was the biggest reason(s) for the switch to the 4-2-5 base defense? And how often does he anticipate will we actually be in base?

For the players - With having missed an entire year due to Covid, what is the mindset of the guys coming into this season?

Well we did have the chance to go to the kickoff event, and we have audio from Amandre Williams, Lewis Kidd, and Brent Vigen. We'll save the Vigen stuff for a later episode, but in this one we share the audio from the players, and discuss the preseason polls, accolades, and other various news that came out of the media day.

You are right on Eric's name haha! Also, I think we can collectively say Amandre, Lewis, and Chase all got the collective shaft on preseason honors.

Typically we shy away from game predictions, but we decided what the heck, let's predict the entire season.

This episode will start a weekly release schedule that will continue all the way up until our bye week, and we may even do an episode during the bye week as well, who knows. It's finally FOOTBALL SEASON AGAIN!

Just like when people on RV forums ask how large a truck to get to pull their RV... Many answer you can't have too much truck. Well, you can't have too much FOOTBALL...

We are just 2 more Fridays away from Bobcat football!

Like many of you I think we were concerned about the culture after Jeff Choate left - would we lose that toughness, that edge, that unity? Well Ryan and I were fortunate enough to interview Amandre Williams, Lewis Kidd, and Brent Vigen last month and along with all of the other things we've been reading and hearing about we decided to record an episode to talk about how we feel about the culture at this moment as we head into the season. We also share the audio from that interview with Brent Vigen.

How are you feeling about the current culture?

Hey you're preaching to the choir here, that's all @Common Cat although even he admitted that his love of IPA may be waning.

Nice job guys. Enjoyed your chat with Coach V. Vigen is definitely different than Choate, but I've grown to like the guy. I think he brings a steadiness and workman like attitude to the job. I also think coming from a small town (Buxton ND) is an advantage when you coach at a school like MSU, where you're going to interact with fans and athletes from rural Montana. All remains to be seen, but I'm liking what I'm hearing. This could turn out to be a special season.

We are just ONE more Friday away from Bobcat football!

This one is simple - we do our best to preview the team heading into the season, share our thoughts, concerns, etc. Thanks for all of the Golden Coolie questions!

Fun broadcast guys!
Thanks for asking Vigen about the prowl. His answer about it perhaps happening earlier and without uniforms sounded uninspired. Too much time before the game and we can't ask the band to be available that early. Perhaps the prowl could still happen if the players exit the new house and maybe circle the Sonny Holland statue and merge with the prowl or something like that. What do you think, any ideas on how to keep the prowl rolling as an exciting event?

That was a good final Golden Coolie question. It would be interesting to find out what TA really thinks about his time at MSU. He's too humble and respectful to say anything without the truth serum though.

Your latest podcast was interesting listening as always guys but it seems you maybe got a little confused when talking about the tight ends.

At about 25:50 ish you mentioned Payton Thornton and guessed that he was from Sunburst MT, Thornton is actually a freshman from Las Vegas NV
Treyton Pickering is the tight end from Sunburst and he was a red shirt in '18, played a little in '19 and is listed as a Soph even though this will be his 4th year as a college student. I imagine you meant to say Pickering as Coach Vigen has mentioned him at least 2 times during interviews. Its all good and again thanks for your podcasts.

Thanks Rich! I don’t have any thoughts on the prowl quite yet. I kinda like your idea.

Yup haha that was a clear mistake. We actually had texted about that after we had recorded. I blame Thorny ;-)
