I've been blown away by the "team above self" vibe this year's team has shown. Sounds like they just removed an extreme talent that was self above team. Hope the kid gets it figured out. Too bad, he could've been great.

Yeah, not shocked by any means, but it's too bad that it didn't work out. I suspect the team will be better off now, though. Obviously things weren't going well if they went so far as to kick him off the team, and those things had to be a distraction.

Who had October 15th in the pool?

Some guys just never get it. A school like MSU, that doesn't have an athletic "academic" curriculum to cater to the stereotypical dumb jock, probably wasn't the best place for him. Now that's he gone from the team, and I assume soon the school, is it true that he got into a fight in a classroom?

Yep. Was not impressed, both on and off the field.

Godecke just returned to practice this month. The altercation came to a head when Marino threw Godecke to the ground outside the action, causing Godecke to miss the remainder of practice in fear he’d re-broken his surgically repaired foot. Upon further diagnosis, Godecke suffered no further injury.

This just gets weirder and weirder. Glad Kyle is ok.

It's too bad it didn't work out for both sides as there was a lot of potential. Good luck to Garrett in whatever he may do in life.

I had a bad feeling about him too...at least for this year. He didn't seem to have his heart in it anymore. I think he'll come back strong for Utah, but the mandatory year off he's taking right now is probably very necessary.

The Wilcox injury is really hurting our team right now. That kid has a great chance if he can stay healthy.

Montana State head coach Rob Ash made “no comment”, but added that this week would be like no other: his next comment on personnel would be during his pre-game interview with the Bobcat Radio Sports Network before Saturday’s 3:35 p.m. kickoff against Weber State.

So, is there going to be more news, such as suspensions, or am I reading too much into this quote ?

I'm taking it as there will be some changes in the lineups, but that's just my interpretation.

My son will be a little sad to hear this, as will other youngsters from what I've gathered on here. But, it will present the opportunity to share with them that attitude, team, selflessness, they are important. MSU does hold to a higher standard and I'm proud to see it in action.

Well, most of us wanted things shaken up a bit on D. Hopefully this ends up being a positive. I was truly hoping Marino was going to get it figured out, but someone else will step up and make us proud.

Some JC out there is going to get a beast.
