Mick and Johnny Brown are currently in Vegas looking at all unsigned seniors. Krysko is in the land down under trying to find some Aussies.

MSU has filled all their scholarships...so I assume they're scouting potential walk-ons?

Looks like Mick and co. got themselves a great recruiting class on paper...I am now much more optimistic about the future of the team after all the JC guys graduate next year.

I'll chime in that I'm very enthusiastic about our basketball program for the next couple of years. It might be fun to be a basketball fan again -- it's been a long time since I could say that, and I'm really happy to have that warm fuzzy feeling back. Good job coaches! Next step ... turn potential into results!

Mick was on the Sports Nuts today. He stated that they are down in Vegas scouting potential recruits for next year.

My Guess is that they are also looking at under class men.
There is a very good highschool wing player 6-5 Derek Lorenzo from Reno who they were looking at , who has stated he really like the Bobcat Program. I read a story earlier this week that he was still looking for a place to play ball. I hear that the coaches were debating between him and Wilson earlier in the season. Who know walk-on this year and scholarship next. I would do it.

I just think now is a time when you have your work done for a couple months, Spring hasn't quite sprung in Bozeman, and all the spring breaks are over so what better time to go to Vegas!!! If I was a college basketball coach, that is where I would be "recruiting" as well. Unless there was something better happening in the tropics!!

Just kidding, Great work by the coaches on this class. I am pumped!

With this recruiting class, and the potential with Johnson and Johnson... what are the chances that both play and Pratt/Durr get redshirted?

Mslacat, are we going to see both Johnson boys on the court next year?

So for next year we take everyone from last year who contributed and finished 2nd in the Sky and we add two players who will compete for starting positions, 6-10 Ted Morris and 6-2 Derrick Edmonds and now we are begining to have a little depth.

Really these are the players I feel will play next year possibly not in this order.

Jefferson
Miller / Durham
Dissly / Edmonds
Moss / Chawn Johnson
Beye/ Morris

These are the Battles

Back up Point guard:
Willson / Holmes

Back up forward Center:
B. Johnson / Pratt

Battling everone for playing time:
Carson Durr

I would guess that 2-3 players will be redshirt, barring injury. Other people arguing, that as senior to be Durham will not redshirt Pratt, but every thing tells me that If Johnson and Johnson out play Taylor Pratt, Durham will play both freshman and redshirt Pratt. It makes a lot of sence that - if we redshirt Pratt - we will have 4 experianced big guys 2006-07 after Beye and Moss leave. Also if some one could get Pratt into a few all you can eat dinners I would appreciate it. I normaly do not give a lot of credit to freshman, but I admit I am already assuming Chawn will contribute very early. In my opinion, though , Chawn already has a College body and has a ton of experiance playing against very talented 6-7 to 7-0 bangers in high school The adjustment will be less for him. B. Johnson I think need to get a little stronger / bigger, but I think who ever works harder this off season between Pratt and B. Johnson will play. It is a toss up, but boy B. Johnson has a huge up side.

A few other notes:

A lot of credit needs to go to Carsen for taking over the head recruiting coordinator position for Jerry Olsen this year. Jerry was a recruiitng wizard at finding talent and I was worried with his departure last year, but Carsen as well as Brown and Durham have done a great Job.

The number of scholarships and players would indicate that Martrell will not be under scholarship or maybe even part of the team next year.

MSU appears to be the only Big Sky school that is finished already recruiting.

The top Recruiting classes so far look to belong to MSU , U of M and Weber
