Women's game-officiating question
OK, maybe someone who knows the rules of basketball better than I do can help with this. At the MSU/NAU women's game tonight, a NAU player fouls Scotta Morton on a rebound, for NAU's 7th team foul. The PA guy doesn't announce the 7th foul and the refs don't spot it. MSU is awarded the ball and Burrows gets a lay-up to tie the game. Then, the refs realize they screwed up and blow the play dead. For some reason, the refs then go back and award a 1-1 to Burrows (the completely wrong player) without taking away the basket! Burrows makes both FT's, and MSU gets 4 point possession to take a momentum-changing 2 point lead, but as usual, goes on to blow the game at the end anyway. Is this the correct call? The NAU coach went absolutely nuts since the refs basically let MSU score twice in one possession...

Sounds like another foul away from the ball, which I read in someplace like Useless Today, ESPN or another publication that the Big Sky leads all conferences in that call. Don't know who or why anyone would track that statistic, but I do find it a little fascinating that our zebras have such a rotten (and well deserved) reputation. I still can't believe the SAC-Weber ending and that Fullerton failed to reprimand that officiating crew
I want to see the officials publically held accountable like the coaches and players just like virtually every other conference
