E-friz lamenting their loss

It looks like of the folks over on e-zirg, now that they didn't get Hoffenbacker, are saying a few things. Here are some fun and also mean things they are saying. After reading that thread I am sooooo proud to be a cat fan.

"As for "offers" from all the Pac 10 teams, I'll be looking into that."

"This doesn't surprise me at all. Those in-the-know have been cautioning about this kid's academic problems for months now." ( I guess griz fans are all knowing too.)

"What kills me is the holier than thou attitude of SOME Cat fans regarding their high academic standards until they get a "really" good player"

"The Griz backed off the kid. He is not a student and may never see the field."

"i feel sorry for this poor kid. he says he had offers from these schools. check out message boards just not the case."

This beats all. "This stupid bastard reminds me of lenny in the book of mice and men. strong but stupid as all hell. Cats can have that tub of ."

"The other thing the griz were going against was his girlfriend. She also opted to be a bobcat. (Track)"

"Of course the Cats kept calling him, they weren't playing in the playoffs."

ps Some said some positive things though

Maybe that's why he discontinued himself from the Internet! :D

To be fair, a number of friz fans also thought the Cats stole a good one from the friz and complimented Kramer. So they are not all bad!

I have been browsing though egriz the last couple of days to see what they think about our recruits, and it really is a funny read if you have the time. A few egrizzers are giving props to the Cats, but most seem to get upset at those who give the Cats props, and then ramble off a number of excuses as to why the Griz didn't land the player, as peedintunnel pointed out on Hoffenbaker.

One poster in particular, wolfman, is getting hounded because he said the Cats are out-recruiting Hauck.

poor guy. ;) He is being about as objective as a majority of us on this site are, and he is taking a lot of heat for it.

wolfman is getting hounded because he is stating it as FACT that the cats out recruited the Griz. It isn't fact at all.
Hoffenbecker was a big loss, and I don't think the Griz recruited him hard enough if they really wanted him, after reading some of his statements. If the Griz wanted him, like I think they did, they should have made it more clear to him that they really wanted him, instead of assuming they had him, which I think they did. (and also heard from insiders that this is how the hoffenbecker thing went down)

& always, always give the girlfriend a track scholarship.

Take off your maroon and silver glasses Jah and you will see CelticCat is exactly right. Wolfman is being criticized for stating that we are having a great recruiting year it would appear and it disappointed the griz appear to have slipped a little from past years. The comments like we really didn't want Hoffenbecker let the Cats have him make me laugh. Be objective and see that we had a pretty good team last season and appear to have filled a lot of the holes that hurt us down the stretch. Just because Wolfman sees that too doesn't make him a bad fan.

Certainly doesn't hurt.

I think you need to put your glasses and re-read my post. I stated that the Griz did want Hoff, but possibly took it for granted that they would get him. I know they wanted him.
I guess I can't read minds as far as why people are jumping on wolf, but in my opinion he acted like it was fact that the Griz were out recruited by the cats. I don't think it is a fact. Though I also don't think it is fact that the Griz out recruited the cats. Both teams have some good recruits, and we still have yet to see the full list.
I've said it a number of times, even a couple years ago, that Kramer is a good recruiter. You can point your finger at other Griz fans for not giving Kramer credit, but certainly not me. He isn't perfect, but I like a lot of the things he does regarding recruiting and personel management. The only beef I have with Kramer's recruiting is I think he depend on transfers a bit too much. And that isn't ment as a slam in anyway. The difference this year is that Kramer won't have to completely depend on the transfers he's getting because the cats will already have good depth.

Wolfman is most certainly the previously banned AZGriz, now known as RoaringGriz on the UGMB. I encourage you to read some of his posts on both boards before you count him as one of you.

I think wolfy/roaring/az does make some good points, but he mostly gets people into name calling fights. Plus he really hates Hauck, so almost everything he posts is with an anti-Bobby slant. It doesn't mean he doesn't have good points, but those who are over-protective of the Griz (Sugar coaters) seem to make the immediate jump to dismiss anything he says out of hand.

It is way too early to say who is winning the recruiting war, we don't even know who will actually sign yet, much less be an impact player, but I have to say it looks to me like Kramer is doing a great job recruiting this year, not just getting some of the best players, but more importantly filling needs. The only thing of concern i would have is continued reliance on transfers (I'm not a fan of transfers), but it looks like he is doing what he needs to get the Cats back up there.

How much easier do you suppose it is for the staff to recruit this year as opposed to last year in light of last year's brutal "meth" issue? That had to be one helluva matter to overcome on recruiting trips. The further away in time we get from that, the better.

Without a doubt. According to what I've heard, the subject hasn't even come up once. Which means, I guess, that um hasn't used it against us.

I've heard of that guy ---- not very popular in the world wide web...I don't think anyone counts him/her on "their" side. It's almost as if the IT guys write a specific filter for his/her spam.

If you've read 'Wolfman's' (AKA many different handles) posts over the last few years you would know that he IS NOT a GRIZ fan. I wouldn't give Kramer too much credit for recruiting Hoffenbacker successfully. The track coach should get all the credit for recruiting his girlfriend. The Cats should out recruit the GRIZ this year by a ton since you have nearly twice as many scholarships to shop around. It shouldn't even be close instate - but wait for the final results, it may still surprise you!

I'm sure both schools will have some surprises come Wednesday. As for Wolfman not being a Griz fan, I know a lot of Griz fans just like him. He's probably being honest, but probably doesn't mind messing with everyone at the same time. He definitely gets a reaction.

That's just stupid, take that trash to the smack board.

How about this folks...both UM and MSU will have very good recruiting classes! MSU has solidified the positions at which they needed the most immediate help, and UM will get plenty of very good players as well. I'm not familiar enough with them to know which positions they're weakest in (other than QB/WR of course) but for one side to claim to have a superior class at this point seems to be way off base.
