Former Huntley Project basketball standout Wes Morales is transferring to Rocky Mountain College from Montana State University.

Rocky head coach Bill Dreikosen announced on Friday that the 6-foot-4, 200-pound Morales has signed a letter of intent to join the Bears' basketball program this fall.

Morales, a forward, is a 2002 graduate of Huntley Project High School, where he was a three-time all-state Class B selection. He averaged 24 points, five rebounds, and three assists during his senior year, and represented Montana in the 2002 Montana/Wyoming All-Star game.

Morales redshirted at MSU during the 2002-2003 season and played as a freshman in 2003-2004. He will have three years of eligibility remaining at Rocky.

"Wes is a versatile player and the two years he has spent playing at the Division I level will really help him step into our program and be successful," said Dreikosen. "He will give us added strength and athleticism at the wing position."

Morales appeared in nine games for the Bobcats last season. He scored a total of seven points, hitting on two of five field goal attempts and three of four free throws.

He scored one of those points in MSU's 83-70 victory over Rocky on Jan. 2 at Bozeman.

"We look forward to Wes joining our team in the fall and are very excited about having him in our system," Dreikosen said. "We feel it is going to be a great situation for him."
