All of these guys would be great.

The thing with the in-state kids is that it seems that many/most of them are asked to walk on and earn a full schollie whereas at UM they seem to offer more partial scholarships.

On another note, does anyone know anything about the 3 kids from Havre that made the team? The definitely put up some impressive numbers.

I would love to see us go after a Havre kid with full enthusiasm. The highline is full of football fans and right now it's a pretty marroon area - but they are LOYAL to the home grown kid and MANY would become Bobcats. (I know Fort Benton is Blue and Gold!) Getting one of those kids (or more) here would instantly increase our fan base, a lot. We'd pick up a lot of love by successful recruiting up there.

I'd also love to see the running back from Drummond. I can't imagine him not being a good fit here.

Definitely be good to pick up a couple of defensive players too - but these were my first thoughts.

It would be really special to get Havre's QB on board to redshirt this year and run the field the next four. They've had some solid winners come out of that school. 1A players!

Even though Utterback's brother plays in Missoula (that was a monstrous recruiting blunder on MSU's part  ) I wonder if Kramer is pursuing Brandon Utterback.

Barnham, Klaboe, Fletcher...3 kids I know the Cats are after. If they could also land the WR/DB and QB from Havre and the RB from Drummond...that would make a great recruiting class for the Cats.

All those kids seem like they are really fit for MSU. Dont dick with them and give them $$$$ to come play in Bozeman! I hope they arent assumed to want to come to MSU so bad that the coaches think these kids will walk on.

I think Gary Wagner's (Havre QB) Uncle is an assistant volleyball coach here at MSU. So he may have some influence over him.

Gary Wagner is related the Hasquets here in Missoula and also has a fair amout of relations here in Missoula. Now the weird thing I think he is a relation albeit distant to my younger brother.

That's Jerry's nephew? That's cool. I have a feeling that Jerry is "the cool uncle" that every family has. Also, I hear that Jerry is one hell of a (volleyball) recruiter.

I believe the Cats are also looking at the Schillinger kid and are still talking to Hoffenbecker. The Dyk kid from Dillon wanted to be an engineer and committed to the U of M. Wish him luck with the top flight engineering school in Missoula. Apparently they told him he could go to school in Missoula and finish up his credit work at Montana Tech. Would that be 7 or 8 years to play 4? He has a foot injury to overcome which has him sidelined for most or all of the basketball season. Good luck to him with that. You hate to see a kid lose a shot because of injury. In recruiting you want kids who want to come. You wish the others well and you move on.

It sounds like we are definitely recruiting Schillinger, but it also sounds like we are asking him to walk on. Hopefully he makes it to MSU, it sounds like he's quite an athlete. I think that his dad/uncle played football for the griz back in the day.

As for Dyk.....Wants to study engineering at UM eh???? What a joke. Apparently school is not this kid's first priority.

Hoffenbacker will end up being a big leap regardless of where he ends up; he will be academically ineligible his first year and in order to GET eligible, he really needs to show some discipline in the classroom that he HASN'T shown at Flathead High.

He is a good prospect physically and a really good kid. I hope A) that he DOES get his academic act together, and B) that he decides to become a Bobcat.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. El Gato-If you were a kid who had academic issues, would you pick MSU or um? Doesn't look good to me for him to come to MSU.
